How many "Wal-Mart" guns do you own?

In my household right now are eight Walmart guns: Two Remington 870 Express, a Mossberg 500 Persuader, Three Marlin Model 60's, a Ruger 10/22, and a Marlin 336W. Walmart does a lot of gun business in South Georgia. I've bought plenty of handguns from local dealers, but their markup on long guns is just too much, at least at the two dealers in my small town. I know they can't match Walmart's prices, but their stores' price difference for the same model gun from Walmart can sometimes be truly ridiculous. Heck, their prices on most used guns are ridiculous (saw a well-used 870 Wingmaster for $395 today).

I have bought a couple before getting into the business. they were OK but even back then I tried to let the little local guy match prices. sometimes he could, sometimes not. if he even came CLOSE he got my business.

I got a Mossberg Plinkster from Wally World. Had i waited a while and looked at other WWs, i would have found it cheaper, but 105 was still cheap and i couldnt pass it up. Thats my only gun from there. Ive bought a lot of bulk .22 from WW and an occasional box of .30/06 but thats it. Ive bought ALOT of fishing equip. from WW though.

I have a Savage, Marlin and Henry, all 3 are 22's and I would't give you a nickle for all three. The Marlin self destructed after about 75 rds, the Savage (a semi auto ) will only feed two to three rds before jaming and the dovetail in the Henry were milled so that one is higher than the other.I don't even buy pencils from WW any more. That is the most useless store ever created!!!!!

One, a CVA 50 caliber muzzle loader "Bobcat", less than $60 out the door. Killed a elk with it.

Bought a Marlin 60 from Walmart last December for $129 as my first rifle. Took the counter guys almost 2 hours to finish the sale. They gave numerous reasons why they possibly wouldn't be able to conclude the sale that day such as store manager on vacation, not sure about a waiting period, not sure about paperwork, etc... but they finally let me have it. A woman came in to buy her husband a 30-06 hunting gun for Christmas about an hour after they started my paperwork and having to do 2 gun sales at the same time totally blew them away :uhoh:

Otherwise, the Marlin 60 is a great little shooter. Since our local gun shops wanted $169-$179 for the same gun, I really had no choice if I wanted to save some bucks.

Since I now know about the better gun stores in the region with good deals, I won't be buying guns from Walmart again. Also our local Academy Sports seems to beat Walmart's gun prices by 5% to 10% if they have what you want.

My first rifle was from Wal*Mart. It was a $99 savage semi-auto. It is a good firearm, but it took awhile to find the ammo it liked (which I stocked up on). There are four Wal*Marts in my area (a 80 mile radius), only one of them still sells firearms.

i bought my first rifle from wal-mart along time ago.... a ruger 1022..... it looks much different now......... got a midway barrel and stock set... a laminated thumbhole an heavy fluted barrel......... i do buy almost all of my rimfire ammo there.......... i'd like to support the local gun dealers more but their prices are about twice wal-marts prices:mad:............i do need a place to buy .17mach2 ammo though...................

One Marlin 336W .30-30
One Mag Tech 7022 (same as the current Mossberg Plinkster but with wood stock)
Two CVA Bobcat .50 muzzleloaders.
That's out of nearly 90 guns I have bought over the years.
I do prefer to deal with local dealers, but one of the local dealers
suggested that I could get a better deal on the Marlin from Wal Mart
(but then I have bought a couple of hundred dollars of .30-30
bullets, primers and powder from him after buying the gun at WalM.)

One of the Bobcats was 59.95 and one was 31.50.

None from Walmart. Even when they used to sell guns, there was never anyone manning the hunting counter when I was there. It was easier to drive to a nearby gun store who had someone to help you and a far larger selection of product.

My Dad bought my 1st two guns from Wal-Mart. A 10/22 (can't remember what age I was) and my 11-87 Premier for my 18th birthday. Neither of us have bought from them since (15 years).

Wal-Mart has never made a gun. No one has bought a Wal-Mart gun they are a retailer with an FFL same as every gun shop.

I am an FFL and have a showroom for my company holding a manufacture license, we sell all other manufactures products at retail. MY service is my advantage over Wal-Mart.

Freedom of enterprise is the USA.

The Tin Foil hats needs changing.

When Gun dealers learn to stop ripping off their customers with insane prices for even USED guns I'll stop buying from stores like Wal-Mart and Academy.

Winchester .30-30 from wally World here and a Marlin Mod 60 as well. I also have an old .410 single shot I purchased from there. Can't beat their prices.

None: I will not support Walmart in Maryland. Every time you buy Ammunition you must sign a list that ask questions a mile long. In comes the State Police and gathers up the information. I don't know what they do with it, I don't think that it is state law that they garner information and make it mandatory that you volunteer said information. Info going into the wrong hands that is beyond mine and anyone elses control is a no no in my book.
