Dear Experts,

I vaguely recall a discussion here citing (I think) a study showing what percentage of permit holders actually carry. Can someone direct me to it?

New Yorkistan, I love it. I'll add that to Californiastan and Commiechussets (what we new england boys call Mass).

Also, I know you're looking for a link to a study and not people's input but 100% carry time for me (except showers). :)

Minus sleeping and showers I have a firearm on my all the time. And for those I have one nearby. So lets call that 99.9%

Always, I even keep a 380 in my tool-bag at work. I do enjoy going to Gelena on occasion which is in the Democratic Republic of Illinois, so I do not carry there.

Like myself, most farmers with CWP's in my very rural county don't carry every day though they will if traveling. If there are any studies on this I'd appreciate your direction.

Daily but not into work. Not allowed.

OTOH, I'm not a fanatic about it. If I'm going out with friends and dont really know all that we'll be doing, I may not, for example. Certainly not if we're going to a pub.

I dont let carrying be the deciding factor for where I go and what I do. (Altho I may reject some businesses that post No Guns signs on principle).

I don't carry whenever I have to physically walk into the post office. But I normally carry everywhere else.

At all times in Code YELLOW. In case of an incident during a Code WHITE event, it is about eight inches under me beneath the mattress, that is, IF I wake up in time.

I have never seen a good source for this information. The only polls are on gun forums and thus are not a representative sample.

Personally I think the percentage of licensed carriers that are actually carrying on any given day is very low. Even on gun forums there are a lot who basically don't carry (have the license just in case) or who prescribe to the theory that it is only worth the 'hassle' of carrying when they go to a 'bad area' or go out at night.
