How much ammo do you guys keep on hand?

I have a 51 gun safe that's dedicated to ammo alone. it's about 85% full now... so between assorted calibers and such I would say probably about 10,000 rounds easy.
 
As much as I can but never enough. I have several thousand rounds, but I shoot .22lr quite a bit. I try to keep 100 rounds of each caliber I own. Id like to aquire more.....but ammo aint cheap.
 
A friend has 35,000 rds. of centerfire ammo, mostly 2.23/7mm & 8mm Mauser/.303, M2 Ball and 7.62x39, plus Swiss Gewehrpatronen 7.5. I've stepped around about 20,000 of his rds., and the rest are in the same vault.
That's right, it is an armored room.
He has never reloaded, nor has he sold any gun, and always has his Makarov within reach.

Most of the ammo is for his rifles, all of which are all-original milsurps, and some is surplus 7.62x25 Tokarev for the larger handgun.
 
I've got some, not enough of others....... still going to add to it! I've got powder, bullets and primers to do some adding also, another list of things to get! Better get busy.
 
For the Winchester 1907 in .351SL: I bought 100 correctly headstamped new brass and 200 180gr RN bullets. I also have the Corbin dies to swage more. About 3/4 of a box of "factory" ammo from Old West Scrounger.


 
I try to keep about 250rds. each for all my hunting rifles; also 2,000rds. of .22RF.
I just picked up my new AR last Friday, and have 900rds. worth of LC brass, powder, CCI Arsenal Primers, and 55/62gr. bullets.

I don't reload for the shotguns, but keep about 200rds. each in 12, 16, and 20ga. around - slugs (16 and 12ga), large shot (all 3), and bird shot (all 3).

I keep a couple thousand primers on hand in L rifle and S rifle. I don't shoot handgun, but am about to get back into it. Have dies for .45ACP, .38/.357, .380, and will be buying for .40S&W.

Based on my available range time, I picked the quantities of rifle rounds so that I can completely rotate my loaded inventories every 2 years.
 
i have lots on hand but i like to set aside ammo boxes filled with various goodies for the "future". I only shoot out of my main supply, and the "future" supply is kept safe and secure for a day when i may need it.
 
2k 22lr, 300 17HMR, everything else is as i need it, keeping materials to make 7.62x54r and 7.62x38

So that's where it all is... ...that jerk:cuss:

I'm in the "larvel" stage of hoarding; started with an 800rnd spam can of 7.62tok cuz that's the only way it comes, then came a 1000rnd box of 7.62x39. I know I'm doomed because I'm accumulating calibers at a worrysome pace (several of them redundant, no less, and all expensive :banghead:):

At this point, I think there are none of any of these left in stores around here. I didn't have any guns during the last prez election, so now I guess I get to enjoy that thrill of gunownership...:fire:
