I have 12 rds of Cor-Bon 115 grn .357. 6 in the cylinder and 6 in a speed loader. If that doesn't get 'em the cheap Winchesters will have to do.

I have 85 rounds of reclassified Gold Dots for practice
1 15 round mag filled with regular Gold Dots and 1 10 round with Hydra-Shoks in 9mm.
And about 24 rounds of Winchester Silvertips .357 Mag. All my 5.45x39mm is FMJ.

In addition to the CorBon, Speer, Remington, Federal, and Winchester in all the calibers I have guns in there is a good selection of MagSafe and a few Glaser's, but I have 135 boxes of RBCD on hand right now. ;)

Usually I just keep enough .40 165gr golden sabers to load all three mags for the sig 229 and a cylinder full of 250gr winchester supreme .44 mag for the super redhawk. As it happens right now, I also have a wide variety of high power hunting rounds (factory) for the .44 as I'm planning on doing some testing. I also have a case of wolf hollowpoints for the SKS, but I shoot it fast, keeping about 100rnds in reserve.

Well, my defensive ammo and practice ammo for rifles are the same: 7.62x39 whatever brand, 7.62x51 Hirtenberger milsurp, and 5.56x45 55gr Georgia Arms. I keep plenty of that stuff on hand.

As far as handguns, I usually keep plenty of that on hand, too, as I shoot a lot of it. 185gr +P .45 Golden Sabers, .38 Spl +P+ 147gr HydraShoks, 9mm +P+ 115gr 9BPLE, and 10mm Cor-Bons of various bullet weights, I have at least 200-500 rounds of each in the house right now. Plenty more other JHP ammo too. Restock at the Georgia Arms booth at every gun show; as long as I don't shoot more than 200-500 rounds of JHP's between shows, I'm cool...

While I keep a round or so in the casa, I sure don't obsess over it. I am not even sure if "premium defence ammo" is all that much better than just "ammo". Check the shootings in your area. Most are done with plain vanilla stuff. Kills lots of folks real dead.

It's easy to get carried away with "all things tactical"

400 rds. 9mm 115 gr. Remington +p+
400 rds. 9mm Hirtenberger 9(?) +p+ truncated nose. in stripper clips
200 rds. .40 cal 180 gr. Black Talons.
100 rds. .45 cal Corbon 115 gr.
200 rds. .308 Fail Safes

20 rounds of Hydrashok for my .45, 20 for my .357, and I think about that much for my 20-gauge.

If that doesn't stop them I'll start shooting ball ammo or whatever military type stuff I have for my AR-15 or M-90.

Check the shootings in your area. Most are done with plain vanilla stuff. Kills lots of folks real dead.

Yeah, but I want to kill goblins QUICKLY, so they can't shoot back while they bleed out.

I'm with Oracle on the Winchester HP. Seems to perform just fine - cheap enough to get plenty of practice with and stock up on... oh, yeah, the question...

500 rounds stored + 66 in magazines.

Ready to go:

For my Colt Ive got 17 230gr Hydra-Shocks, with five or six GI mags with 230 gr FMJ, two more in my glovebox. My Kimber has 29 230gr Hydra-Shocks in 2 para P14 mags, with one Kimber HiCap loaded with 230gr FMJ. 15 rounds of 230gr Hydra-Shocks, with 2 other mags loaded with FMJ for my Para Companion. The Taurus M85UL that hasnt been fired in forever and a day is loaded with HydraShocks, and two speedstrips loaded with the same. I prefer one of my .45s for defense, so my Ruger sits with an empty pipe and two HiCaps untill the weekend, all FMJ.

No long arms, weird huh?

Boxed, on the shelf:

About 300 rounds of .45 acp (100 hydra-shocks, 200 FMJ), 100 9mm, and 50 .38 special, with a partial box of each. I run outta one box and buy another. I'd reload if I had time, and a place to do it.

Maybe I'm weird, but I only have 50rnds of GAarms 230g Gold Dot +P ($13/50) on hand for defensive purposes. Of course, every bit of that is loaded in Wilson mags (a 47T is in the gun) and the whole kit and kaboodle is in a special pouch waiting to go.

Six magazines total with 10+1 in the gun! I think I'm ready.

I keep:
3 7rd 1911 mags loaded with Winchester whitebox in the desk drawer I keep my 1911s in. (4th mag is kept in my .45 ammo can so I cant forget a mag when going to the range)
1 10rd AR15 mag, 1 20rd AR15 mag, both loaded with 55gr PMP and 25 Remington #7.5 extended range, high velocity 12ga shells are kept in bins on the door of my safe (I've tried to buy buckshot locally, but every dealer looks at me like I'm a poacher when I ask about it). Might be adding two 20 round FAL mags loaded with South African surplus in place of the AR15 mags, as the FAL now blocks the AR15s from being removed easily.
Yes, I'm very short on mags, due to either being cheap or MD making it a pain in the butt to buy mags over 20 rounds, depending on the gun.

Kharn

60 Fed 110-Gr Personal Defense loads for the .38 snubby
60 Speer 158 Gr Gold Dots for the .357 Vaquero
100 Rem 230-Gr Golden Sabres for my 2 .45ACP's.

A a lot of some sort of ball or SP ammo for each one.

Unknown, especially if broken down by caliber.

I just know that the part of the house with the ammo sags...;)

Honest Skunk, I tried to count my premium ammo but I ran out of fingers and toes.:neener:
