Some subtlety is called for.
Let me start off by saying I have no idea how many loaded rounds of ammo I have, or what exactly what component inventory is for reloading. I did sorta-kinda count up the primers earlier this year, and it was 50k< x < 60k. All that being said... Different strategies for different calibers and uses. I have > 3k .223 and .308, 7.62x39 ammo that's mil-spec or mil-surp. I have > 1k .30-'06 M2 ammo. Back when prices were much lower, I decided to quit reloading 9mm, since Blazer could be had for 3.84/box, and I stocked up a 2 or 3k at that time. (I'm now glad I didn't ditch all the 9mm brass
) I have 100 < x < 1000 of serious S.D. ammo in .45ACP, 9mm, .38Spl, .44Spl, and .357M. I have taken a renewed interest in CASS, and so I'm loading and shooting a lot more .38's than I used to.
For hunting, or serious target work, I will have ~ 100 or so rounds handloaded in any of those calibers.
For rimfire, which for me means .22LR, I don't even know how many digits are in the number of cartridges I have. I'm pretty sure it's a 5 digit number, but I don't know what the first digit is.
How does an accumulation like this fit into the poll?
Looking Saxon Pig's post got me to thinking...
1 rimfire caliber
2 shotgun guages, but overwhelmingly just 12g
7 rifle calibers (.223, .30-30, .308, .30-'06, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R)
8 handgun calibers (9Mak, .380, 9mmP, .38Spl, .357M, .44Spl, .44M, .45ACP)
That would be....Lessee... carry the 1.... 18 calibers.
