How much have you over paid for "pre-ban" stuff before the ban ended?

Other than my Kimber (that uses PO mags), my thompson, and the AR15 I was colleting parts for, most of my collection was (and still is) comprised of 1911s, so I didnt have much affected by the AWB.

I paid around $70 for a few P14 magazines. Thompson magazines havent went down, there was a pretty big supply of them during the ban (or low demand - probably both). NIW pre-ban AR magazines could be had for about 20 bucks, now they're about 20 bucks new from BM.

Never took the plunge on a pre-ban gun. By the time I could afford a pre-ban AR, the AWB was on its deathbed, so I got another pistol, an upper and a collapsable stock instead, and picked up my lower on 9/17.

Another twist...

look at all the people that pay $30k for a car and it's worth 10k 3-4 years later. You coulda bought a used one for 10k to start with.

Get what you want....learn but don't look back

I bought four Walther P99 mags for $75 each. Considering that they were going for $99 each most places that wasn't too bad. Of course now the mags cost $40 each.
