For a Weatherby Vanguard VGX delux in .270 win. with a Leupold VXIII 3.5x10x40 with adjustable objective. The Gun is in roughly 90% condition. I know the price that is on it, but I am curious as to your opinions of this gun/scope combination and what you would be willing to pay for it.

Thank you in advance.

it is a gun I have been eyeing for a little while and I am having a hard time convincing myself not to go for it... any shrugs either way?

Tempted also

But you gotta do your own shopping. I believe that the scope is worth in the $850~900 range. Is it a two-staged trigger? It all boils down to how hotly you need it. Do you have a wife to explain it to ??

Personally I would stay away from the Weatherbys, have seen alot of problems with there guns and would would go someplace else for a high end rifle, (Kimber comes to mind:D) plus I dont think the Vanguards hold there Value anymore like the older Weatherbys. The scope is great I just question the gun. My 2 cents

nope...no wife or kids to work into the equation.. seeing as the gun is sitting on the shelf for a (relatively) meager price of $700, I dont know that I will have any hope of walking away from it.

The scope is $500 new at Cabelas; worth $350 or so. It sounds like a good buy at $700 for rifle and scope.

for the curious...
