How ok is it to NOT clean my Glock?

Why would you ask that.. I don't care if its a glock no gun should be treated like that.. I would slap you with a fish if you asked me that in person, how lazy are you?!
Personally, I like fish so I'd save it for the frying pan, but I agree. What's the point of NOT cleaning something-anything that gets dirty with use? I have a car, boat, house, car, body, mind. All get cleaned when they get dirty. Simple.

My poor G27 it gets dropped, carried tucked in my waist band with no holster all day every day, used and abused. When I start to feel sorry for it I wash it in the sink with hot water and dish washing detergent, shake it dry and lube it with dri-mol. It shoots that's all I have ever asked it to do and it does it every time.

Dont be lazy! Just clean the damn thing!
Once a month for my carry gun.
And I wiped down all the guns in my safe once a year.
If I shoot it then it gets cleaned immediatley.

I clean it every 1000 rds, whether it needs it or not.

I lube it more often, tho.

This is nuts. How many guns have had a FTF / FTE due to cleaning?

How many militaries in the world don't clean their weapons?

If you just use the gun on the range, Who Cares! But if you carry the gun, if you are going to lay your life on the line with the gun, treat it like the tires or brakes on your car. Maintain the gun to the manufactures specifications.

It's a Glock, get a bore snake and spend 5 min cleaning it after you shoot it.

Here's my question for you guys:

I field strip and clean after every cleaning session with my Glock. If this is religiously done....would a Glock even need detail cleaning before the 10,000 round mark?

A detail cleaning may get stuff that you missed during a normal cleaning.

I like to clean them all the time, well, just because I like to sleep at night knowing there isn't crap in the barrel and no fingerprints on the metal, but that's just me. As far as a scientific reason for it, probably not necessary, I just like to clean my guns...On the other hand, doesn't the bore scrubber tear the hell out of the inside of a barrel after repeated use? Seems like it would...

No, it's made out of much softer metal. If you're really worried about it, use a nylon brush. They aren't as effective IMO, but they absolutely for sure can't scratch the surface.
