Two surprise birthday gifts has given me a little disposable income. My rule is I can't use "family money" for guns, but birthday, CHristmas, etc. gifts can be used.
I have enough to purchase a nice, used S&W Model 10-5 at a local pawnshop. It's tight, probably 85%-90%, and the pencil barrel is either 4" or 5"...I forget which. Price is listed at $245; hopefully cash would talk and the price could be dropped a bit.
I've also wanted a Ruger Super Single Six convertable. I've only seen one used model in the past year - a 3-screw in great shape for $500. New, the price is in the mid-to-high $300s (buds has it for $377).
I have the centerfire revolvers covered with a GP161 and SP101. I have a .22 Browning Buckmark; no way I can afford a .22 DA revolver, with Smith 617s commanding over $600 NIB pricetags, and used, they are scarce as hens teeth.
Whatcha think...go with the used Smith today or roll the quarters and work towards the Ruger? I'm leaning towards the Smith...
