Who has one and can tell me about the one's with the regular barrel.
I know they are the same as the Weatherby and should shoot just as well.
I had a Savage with the heavy tube on it , and while it was accurate as all get out, the darn thing was a range gun for me due to the weight.:what:
I would want the Howa for a knock around rifle in the hills to shoot Rabbits and such.
Thanks for any info.

The Howa/Weatherby Vanguard in 223 (non-Varmint) uses a 24" medium-contour barrel with a 1:12" twist. The Howa works well with lighter fodder, but won't shoot much over 65gr with any accuracy.

It's still a pretty heavy rifle; probably close to eight pounts without an optic but with mounts.
