Howdah Hats & Primer Capsules

Yep

Allow me to enlighten many here with the 'fail to see why' concern.

Simple truth is this, 'availability'. With demand for commercial ammunition at an all time high and 1 BILLION rounds being made on a daily basis with all materials being dumped into that sector, now throw in estimated some letting up in 4-6 months from now (may). This has led to current shelf's to become bare and out of stock. With hazmat shipping charges and many companies limiting to 1 or 2 cans of #11 percussion caps that makes things very expensive very fast.

However many place still have shotgun primers so having the availability to shoot MULTIPLE types of ignition is in a time of epic demand a very good thing to have.

Now lets say worse case possible. Say next 2-3+ years there is no letting up and all of us with 'stock piles' become depleted then what? Having a robust system in those situations really does help out. Historical accurate? probably not. Practical? In some cases yes.

Yep. Diversify and survive.
Going one step further....this type of good advice is why some years ago I invested in a large bore PCP rifle and a PCP .22 pistol.

I can see this as a viable option for a working gun which would be loaded up then carried around a ranch or similar and shot now and then. Or as a good all weather option for a muzzle loading hunting side lock cap rifle.

But with all the fiddly bits and pieces I can't see this being an option for most of us for range giggles where we load and shoot in relatively rapid sequence and larger amounts. The time needed to reload the capsules would greatly extend the overall loading time between shots on target. And then there is the need to do the loading of the cylinder out of the gun and all the small parts involved.

So I can see this as a good option for some uses or some users in matches where this option would be allowed or for muzzle loading season hunting or for a C&B farm gun. But I can't see it as a viable or desireable replacement for caps used by typical play day C&B target shooters or CAS Frontiersman category shooters.
