Bought some HSM orange box in 9mm, .45ACP, and .40S&W. After reading some reviews I am concerned maybe it wasnt a good buy. I dont want a kaboom in my glock 22 or any of my other pistols for that concern.

What are your comments or reviews of this ammo?

    Thanks,

    -Ed

I've never shot their pistol ammo, but have ran a couple hundred rounds of their 7mm Rem Mag ammo through my Remington without a hitch.
Very accurate, priced right and devistating on game!!!
No complaints here. Hope this helps.

    Never will shoot HSM again

I work with my local sheriff's office. was practicing with the HSM ammo in .40 cal. I had a round blow up in my Glock. Luckily I was wearing safety glasses because they spiderwebbed. I was also hit in the cheek with a few small pieces of brass. The complete back half of the casing was blown away from the rest of the casing.
I was told by several people that the Glock saved my eyesight and possibly my life.

I am sorry that happen to you Bass, since I originally posted this I have fired most of the .40 rounds and I did an extensive inspection on ALL of the HSM I purchased. I used a scale to weigh them and compare to see if they all were similiar (for each caliber) and used Winchester White Box rounds for comparison on top of visual inspecting them all as well.

I disposed of 27 rounds total due to some kind of faultiness. Most were 9mm. One of the 9mm rounds had the primer compressed in, several more had what looked like deep primer strikes, and the rest had deformed casings.

The ones I kept were the best and so far I have used most of the .40 without any problems.

I've shot plenty of HSM ammo w/o any problems. If someone tells me a story about having a KBM, I'd like a few details (pics, etc...) Did a gunsmith determine the cause of the problem? What was the attitude of HSM when they were contacted?

hsm makes high quality rifle ammunition from what i've seen and been told, but no experience with their pistol ammunition. the glock probably did save your life...
