Hey there ladies and gents! Pretty new to THR but nothing like a first thread ever...

Have you ever used any sort of hydro dipping method to coat parts of a gun i.e. stock, hand guard, accessories? I know a company called Matrix industries dips magpul parts for ARs but I don't like buying something when i know I can probably do as good a job (they don't have a pattern that I want lol). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I want to be able to dip anything but i mostly want to know what companys dipping kits y'all have used.

here's a thread from a few months ago showing my hydro dipped AR by wwguns

i think just about anybody could get it done, but there's more to it when you have irregular shapes and need a fairly scratch resistant coating over it. the prep for complex patterns is also interesting as some patterns have transparent sections that show the paint underneath, so matching colors is tricky.

I can see what you mean by complex shapes though. Your quad rail looked like it would be extra challenging. Call me crazy but I want to dip my magpul parts in a wood grain dip. I must be sick in the head but it just seems cool!
