Holy crap!!!!
...Could the whole problem have been avoided by the OP in the first place by simply placing the order over the phone instead of pecking away at his keyboard? Me thinks that's a possibility. ....end rant

PV clearly stated that they would not accept phone orders for this.

I haven't received a call and I got a confirmation email... I ordered 8K spp and 2K lpp... the spp is what I realllllyyyy need. If they cancel it I'm not going to be furious/righteously indignated... just disappointed.

I thought they delayed posting inventory on their site until they'd "counted/confirmed" what they had? Who was counting/confirming the mythical/invisible SPP?

I think the OP ordered small-pistol *magnum* primers, which werent in stock. Large pistol, small pistol, small rifle showed in stock in my browser, but small pistol *magnums* never did show as in stock. I went back and refreshed the page many times over the next half hour, and they never showed in stock, or I would have ordered some myself.

I dont personally think this is even a PV problem, as the same facebook page that said primers were coming in said to order carefully, since orders with out-of-stock items would be cancelled.

He may not have ordered the wrong primers. The problem may be that they have to manually disable the ordering option. Between the time it took him to hit "buy" and the time he spent to fill out his payment info they were probably disabling the option. I do agree that they could have filled the rest of his order BUT if the rest of the primers he ordered sold out before they realized that he ordered an out of stock item, it's going to be pretty tough for them to go through and figure out who should get what. I can't blame them for not doing all that extra work considering that they're a few thousand orders behind right now. It sucks, but PV is a good company and they'll see more of my money in the future.

I'm surprised they don't have a provision to permit customer to specify "cancel backordered line items, ship remainder". Brownell's has that as an option.

Must have a really primitive order processing system that can't handle line item drops
and recomputing order total.

Cabelas oversold cci primers a few times in the past couple of months, then cancelled the orders. They cancelled backorders of .223, then posted it for sale on the website at a higher price.
