Some of you guys are incredible. "Hey, man, sorry your dog got shot, but ya know it kinda looked like a coyote, and you can always get another dog". Sheesh! Now I know why this country is going to hell in a handbasket; no righteous indignation.

Don
No offense meant, but you appear to be WAY too emotionally invested in your business transaction.

In my dealings with PV, they have been straight up and dependable.

They will continue to receive my business. :)

If you don't like their system GO SOMEPLACE ELSE. I ordered (with a friend) 32# of powder and 5000 209s. Waited 5 weeks instead of four due to winter storms there at the time. Everything shipped just fine

Here's a little hint - order items by the case they come in - that means primers in lots of 5000, not 1000 and powder by the case whether 1, 4 or 8# containers. The less they have to open and repackage, the better your odds of getting your entire order

First off, I feel sorry for anyone in the business right now that is doing the right thing and making their normal mark up. they will continue to get my business, but the people (workers) that have to put up with the Irate customers created by this panic do not make enough. So sorry that do not have the IT Department of Scott Trade or IBM. Geez, it is a company that has major growing pains because of a bunch of people caught unprepared by the obvious. They should make it right, but crying about it will not get anything done. If they came up with another million primers tomorrow you would place the order again. I thought about placing one, but I just picked up 10K at my LGS, yes I paid a little more, but they were CCI and Remington. Figured out the shipping and Hazmat I donated a few bucks to a hunting buddy.

Just slipped out and ordered another 10,000 SRP from PV, they weren't available when I got home and then wallah then they were.

.

Powder Valley was great to deal with before all the mess. They backoredered individual items when the volume was at "normal" levels. Actually, I got an email stating that they would implement this entire cancellation practice on any orders containing backordered items after XXXX date. Since my order was before that they sent my backordered items as they became available at their expense for shipping.

I would be disappointed if it happened to me but give 'em a break. No one knows what works for them better than......them.

Seller's market or not.Good business practices or customer service is appreciated & brings repeat business.I have one bad transaction,im done with that company.I understand your fustration.Cancelled the whole order rather than just delete the item out of stock.Bad business practices on top of ridiculous wait times is sad.Note to gun companies, guns are always in demand OVER STOCK ITEMS!!!!!Bad enough gov't has all the ammo, cops cant even stay stocked up & they need it.

I have to completely agree with Don. It doesn't take complicated shipping software to ship what's ordered minus what is not in stock. I understand them not wanting to backorder what's not in stock but canceling an entire order because of a mistake that was theirs is unreasonable.

All you guys jumping on him just because it's not you being treated poorly should be ashamed of yourself. Flame away because I can care less what you-all think of me...

Seems to me that if they had time to call and tell you your order was canceled, they could have used that time to fill the order and ship it less one item. You don't punish your customers for your mistake. Customers have memories.

I have a memory, a memory of PV being one of the best stand-up businesses during this craziness. They are one of if not the largest distributor of powder and primers online and they have done their best to not screw it all up.

I will always be a PV customer.

They should fix their screw up. If they won't take care of one customer why would they care to take care of a different one. Think I'll keep buying from other places.

I don't get it - why did they cancel the entire order, instead of just the item that was not in stock?

Yep, dumb policy. Dumber software.
Sorry it happened, sorry it happened to you.
Not worth being upset over, for more than an hour.
Move on, buy from somone else(if you can).
Life can be REAL unfair, but this is not something you can't get over.
Folks in Oklahoma have much bigger problems, not to minimize yours, just to keep everything in perspective as we kkeep putting one foot in front of the other.

That's crazy. Your LP primer order was for a full case; that should have been enough to keep that portion of the order. Even if there would have been a below min order (like 2k primers), that just have just prompted a call to advise of any increased shipping.

If they don't have a live inventory system, you have to know an order is a crap shoot. On the other hand, why are they accepting orders they aren't staffed to handle with any level of customer service. Is it because of the low prices you want maybe?

Where do they set all these partially filled orders, while the paperwork goes back to the office? What happens to credit card processing fees when the original order has already been charged out? Don't make it sound like it should be easy. It is possible though, probably with higher prices.

Yep, I think everyone needs to get disgusted with PV over this and not order from them anymore.

I would appreciate that.

For the record, I was refreshing the page about every ten seconds until it flipped to "in stock" on spp. I never saw spm primers as marked as available (and I looked, cause I wanted some) like the OP stated.

Before refreshing the page, did you clear your browsers cache after each time? That could have made a difference. That's what I did. My order confirmation is at 6:16 (eastern). Even at that, I'm not positive that I'll actually get my order, but PV hasn't contacted me to tell me otherwise...yet. If they do, I'm sure I'll be disappointed, but I'm not going to lose my cool over it. Yeah I know, easy for me to say.

I don’t think I would be furious with them if they canceled my order, I would probably be disappointed. I understand that these are trying times and they would like to fill the order if they could. I would be furious if they billed me for it and couldn’t fill it.

Holy crap!!!!
They weren't fast enough to show out of stock on an item that was running through there quicker than grease through a goose, and they're being tarred and feathered for it?
Sorry, I just can't jump on that bandwagon. PV has been working hard to try to take care of as many people as possible. Sometimes mistakes happen. Sorry it happened to you, but get over it. At least they were nice enough to call instead of just leaving the OP hanging. Could the whole problem have been avoided by the OP in the first place by simply placing the order over the phone instead of pecking away at his keyboard? Me thinks that's a possibility.

Nevermind. Disregard everything I've said so far. Y'all go ahead and hate on PV and never order from them again. It'll make it easier for those of use that are a bit more understanding and forgiving in this chaotic environment of shortages.

....end rant

The way I read it, the order was for multiple types of primers. One type was out of stock, so they canceled the entire order rather than just amending it to only include the items that were in stock. That's not a 'orders coming in faster than system for account for' type situation. It sound to me like his problem with them is they chose to cancel his order for items that were in stock.

Now I know why this country is going to hell in a handbasket; no righteous indignation.

And all of this time I thought it was because the government was printing too much money. I'm appalled, but now that I see the light I'll be on my guard. I dare those people at Whataburger to not put enough lettuce on my cheeseburger. I'll take my business to McDonald's and they will suffer!

Yes, I am a sarcastic old goober who learned long ago that anger is not my friend.
