Yes, as the comment from HK Pro, which I pasted below, states, I am fully aware that there are active retention polymer holsters for the HK P30. I, and several others it seems, am looking for one for the P30sk.

Is anyone aware of any?

Note, for these purposes, an active retention holster is a holster with a device built into the holster that must be released before you can draw the gun. This could be in the form of a thumb break, a trigger guard lock or other device.

I have a P30, which I like, it hits my big buttons:
  • DA/SA
  • Decocker
  • Paddle Release

For it, my preferred holster has been my Safariland ALS (active retention) holster. I ride a motorcycle and am an unusually poor kayaker, so I see active retention as a must. I am not bothered by the bulk of the Safariland. . . okay, I am a bit bothered by the bulk of the Safariland, but not much. I am a bit on the short and fat side. My normal carry style is OWB and ill-concealed. Ill-concealed means that I do wear a cover garment, but I am not overly bothered if it is a little visible.

Back to the P30sk aspect. I have found two things with the P30. The first is that I am finding it a bit big for daily wear. Second is that while I mentioned the Safariland ALS, the location of the lever on that holster is sometimes problematic due to some arthritis creeping into my thumb.

I find myself wearing my Walther PK380 in a Blackhawk Serpa holster more often, the index finger release is working better with the arthritis in my thumb.. Yes, I have "a thing" for having carry pistols that function similarly. With that in mind, I noted that the P30sk is essentially the same size as the PK380 and a better quality pistol.

I see that there is a Blackhawk Serpa for the P30, and IMI defence makes a very similar product with its RHS System holster, also available for the P30. Has anyone used either of these two holsters with the P30sk, even better, do you have a picture of the P30sk in either of these holsters?

I always like helping folks find holsters, but the problem is you are looking for a "duty" holster for a "concealment" gun. Such a thing won't be common.

Other than weight, I suspect, at least in a holster like a SERPA or Safariland duty holster, a P30 isn't going to be any harder to conceal than a P30SK. The holster will limit concealment more than the size of the gun.

DARA offers Level III holsters for the P30SK. I don't know how their retention device works and if it is better or worse than what you're using. https://www.daraholsters.com/Level-II/

Red Hill Tactical has Level II holsters for HK's, but doesn't show the P30SK, though they do show the VP9SK. The VP9SK holster may work, or perhaps with an e-mail or call, they may be able to produce a P30SK holster for you.

Tucker Gun Leather offers a thumb break option for their Deep Cover, leather lined kydex holsters, and they are available for the P30SK

I don't see it on their website, but I've seen Garrett holsters with thumb breaks in the past. They are also leather lined kydex.

"I ride a motorcycle..."

I can't help with the kayak part, but here is a thread from a guy that hit an F250 at 45MPH while carrying a SIG P220 in an open top IWB leather holster. The holster was damaged, but the gun stayed in the holster.

A few winters back I hit a patch of black ice a mile from Bozeman and ended up on my roof. My Beretta Nano carried IWB in a Garret Silent Thunder IWB didn't move an inch!

This reminds me of the blurb on C. Rusty Sherrick's website concerning the Tom Givens Rangemaster Holster

One of my staff rolled his Jeep at 60mph last Friday. He wound up hanging upside down in the Jeep, secured in his seatbelt. He dropped out of the harness and crawled out through the driver's window. His 1911 was still securely seated in his Rangemaster Special when he stood up outside the vehicle. I am impressed.

The DARA mentioned in #2 is pricey, and more than a bit bulky, but it is the closest to what I am looking for. The retaining strap appears to be springloaded for easy release. I am still on the fence about the P30sk though. I just got my annual retention bonus; however, it nicely coincided with my daughter's tuition payment.

I will probably eventually get the P30sk, as I like the P30 but it is just a bit big. As I mentioned in the copied section, I find myself carrying my PK380, which is dimensionally very similar to the P30sk, more than the P30. It seems only a little smaller on paper, but the difference really adds up.
