Started with an XSP... Next thing I know, I have a whole stable full of Colts. Pictured are 2 Government 380's an XSP, a Plus II, Pony Pocketlite, and 2 all steel mustangs - one of them in Coltguard enickel.

All of them shoot great and are the softest recoiling little pocket guns I have ever shot.

Post your Mustangs if you got 'em!

Nice collection.

I'm fond of mustangs as well. I have two Colts, one from the mid 1980s and one of the current production run. I carried the older one for about 15 years and it is now retired.

Sorry, the only mustang picture I have at present is my avatar. She is a 2000 Bureau of Land Management model.

I love those Government Models! Mine is my favorite 380.

Do you have a 1903?

Stainless Gov't model from around 1984. I've since put an ambi safety from Cylinder and Slide on it, and a full-length guide rod.
Excellent little pistol.

Outstanding Colt Pony collection! I had a Government Model .380 which I sold to my brother and picked up a Mustang as soon as I found one. Added a SIG P238 to the CCW mix a few years ago. Great little guns and probably the softest shooting .380s I have ever encountered. Thanks for sharing your awesome stable of Ponies with us.

Thanks to all for sharing comments and pictures. I have a thing for pocket guns. I am currently searching for a pristine Colt 1903 and 1908 as well as a 1908 vest pocket. Otherwise, I have lot of nice old .25s, 32's and 380's.

The XSP is a great little gun. Lightweight, yet still very soft shooting and accurate. I put some orange nail polish on the front sight to help me pick it up quicker and it is great. I carry it in my pocket regularly when clothing requires something light and small All of these guns can shoot better than I can...25 yards is well within their capability.

The government models are absolutely remarkable. Some guns just have a certain look, balance and feel in hand that renders them special...that describes them perfectly. A close second is the stainless Plus II, which is also amazing.

The Pony should be put back in production immediately!! While some dislike the trigger, I find it no different than the pull on a S&W 642. I guess too many folks do not shoot revolvers nowadays and do not have a frame of reference outside of modern striker fired autos.

All in all, while I do not necessarily look at guns as an investment, Colts of the discontinued variety will always act as a store of value with the bonus of providing pleasurable shooting as well as serving for self defense if necessary. Whenever I see one for a reasonable price, I snatch it up. May as well convert fiat paper into real assets...

My thoughts as well on the Colt Pony. If I were looking for a .380 for concealed carry for my wife (who first started shooting with a S&W Model 34 .22 that I bought her), the Pony would be a great choice.

No mention of the Browning 1911 380 in 3-1/2" barrel! Very easy to rack, light weight, very little felt recoil and a real quality piece.

You're quite right, I had forgotten about the Browning 1911 .380. Thanks for the new addition to the thread!

Nice Collection. Been carrying a Mustang for almost 20 years. Never once had the safety disengaged when carried in a good pocket holster. Nothing else it's size shoots as nice.

Had a nice little .380 Government model and that little gun was one of the most accurate .380 ACP guns I have ever owned. Every now and then (like right now) I regret parting with that gun. Maybe one day I'll replace it.

Bought my Government new 30 years ago, ran maybe a half box through it, then put it in the safe where it's sat ever since. Maybe it's time to get it out and exercise the lonely little thing a bit.

Armybrat, that Colt is in beautiful shape! Take that poor horse out for a gallop ASAP!

Who did the custom work on your Mustang? I like the sights, extended safety, and the melted edges.

Many moons ago it went to Mac Scott and the late Doug McDougall for their Pocket Carry Package.

Every once in a while I think I need to "upgrade" but just end up with the Mustang back in the pocket. There are smaller .380s and there are not quite as small nines, but I still find the little Mustang has the balance just right.

Here's one that's a little different. Hard chrome, Novak sights, golf ball treatment on the front and back straps, home made grips attached to the frame with standard 1911 grip bushings, and some cool machining on top of the slide.

THAT is a really slick! I have never seen one enhanced like that. Congratulations on the one!

Very, very nice customization work! I would love to have a Mustang set-up like that (sweet looking grips too)! Thanks for sharing.
