I enjoy shooting 22lr much more than any other caliber.

In rifles I prefer centerfire and .22 mag. I reload .45 ACP, 9mm, .38 special and .380. I own six centerfire handguns and one rimfire, a Buck Mark. I enjoy shooting my Buck Mark more than my centerfire handguns so that is what I do.
For me it is the accuracy first and recoil second. It's fun to sit on my back porch and nail rabbits out to 30 yards with my Browning.

I see what you saying.I have a lot of 22's but sometimes you want to shoot a firearm with a little power and punch. My 9mm's do that for me.9mm is obtainable and relatively inexpensive to other calibers.Plus I reload them cheap.I have a Henry and Single six both"Old School".It is relaxing and fun.

.22lr is nice but for me after about 100 shots fired and targets hit im bored and its time to move on to a centerfire. That said no matter what gun(s) im shooting i always bring a .22 or two with.

If I am out shooting, I will almost always have a 22 or two with me. They get more use than anything else and are clearly the most dominant caliber I own in rifles and handguns. I enjoy them a lot.

I like the precision of shooting 22's. But I like the recoil and all that goes with it with my 41 mags and 480 Ruger revolvers. I seldom shoot 357 anymore, but I do shoot 38spls as that is my carry gun caliber.

Well, I pretty much enjoy shooting anything. That is, as long as its accurate enough for the target/game that I'm shooting at. Even got a couple of air rifles recently. Its a good challenge shooting targets out there at 100yds or more with a breeze blowing. Trigger time is good time.

I always liked .22 revolvers better than .22 semi-autos. I had a S&W 617 that was a lot of fun to shoot. Traded it for a S&W 627 that is also a fun shooter. .22 LR is still hard to find, and the price is rising.

I own lots of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. I have a gun for anything I'm gonna shoot. I've been a hunter since the age of 7. I got my first .22 rifle at ate 9 (still have it) for my birthday and I've been enamored by the .22 ever since.

At about age 16, I got my first handgun, a Hawes single action .22. My uncle taught me handgun shooting old school one handed with a Smith and Wesson K22 masterpiece. Still, today, my favorite shooting is plinking at swinging targets with an accurate .22 pistol. Ammo availability has slowed me down some, but I handload, shoot centerfires and cap and ball a lot, love THEM, too! My range is just out my back door, so I can shoot about anytime I feel like it by just walking out to my back yard pistol range. I have to walk about 70 yards farther, but I also have a 100 yard rifle range.

So, no gun club range for me, anymore, I just walk outside and shoot and probably 75 percent of the time, it's a rimfire I'm shooting, rifle or pistol. Just did some shooting with my SR22 this afternoon after church. :D

22 is my favorite but I do like a bigger bang now and then.

I have a lot of 22's but sometimes you want to shoot a firearm with a little power and punch.

Same here,,,
So when I get tired of rimfire,,,
That's why I collect matching handguns in .22 and centerfire.

50 rounds through my Model 18,,,
Then a cylinder though my Model 15,,,
Lather, rinse, repeat as often as I want to.

I have 10 pairs of matching handguns,,,
So this routine gets seen at the range quite often.

.22 is certainly an enjoyable round. It has its limits, but its still a blast to shoot. I learned to shoot as a young Boy Scout with bolt action .22. Now teaching new shooters, I always pulls out a poor Sig Mosquito with a high round count. Of my dozen or so firearms, I've ended up with half as .22. Everything from a Heritage Rough Rider Revolver, Sig Mosquito, 2x highly modified Ruger 10/22s, a Henry Frontier, and am awaiting the arrival of a Volquartsen Scorpion. I've even picked up a suppressor for some quiet fun (fits both Rugers, Mosquito and VQ).

Even though the ammo is difficult to find, they're still the most fun to shoot. I don't know that I'll ever drop any of the 22's I have, save to replace them as they wear out. That poor Mosquito averages 1000rds/yr and is already 5 years old, in another few years I'll have to buy another one and throw the current one in the tackle box or something.

Rimfire has many benefits, no question. When it was plentiful, I would shoot a brick each week. Anymore, my 38 special hand loads are around the same cost. Through a level gun, a .38 feels and sounds like a .22lr. Through a medium framed revolver those 38's are soft too. If I want extremely light loads, just drop the powder charge and you get recoil like a 22 as well.

And then there are wax bullets shot with just a primer. There's just too many other options that are more fun when the rimfire price jumps (for a range toy) For me. I certainly enjoy rimfire shooting, both in bulk plinking and precision shooting. I simply enjoy a bit more bite if prices are going to be higher. The 38/357 and 9mm range is my sweet spot of most fun rounds, though 45ACP sneaks in now and then too.

My Mk III has all the accuracy, reliability, noise, and weight of my full sized centerfire handguns. But with only a fraction of the recoil and fun.

I love shooting my 22 rifle, because hearing protection is not necessary. 22 handguns just don't do much of anything for me.
