The local Dunham's had 30-40 ammo.
I've noticed a trend of obscure ammo being on the shelves lately.
It's almost like they are trying to supply anything instead of nothing.
The one box of cartridges will equal at least 100 more times I can shoot my old rifle.

Score! I really enjoyed finding "obsolete" (maybe exotic is a better word) ammunition for guns I owned. It is part of the fun of owning one. This makes me wonder about the implications of finding nothing but 357 SIG in one store recently....

I have been very surprised to see Krag ammo on the shelves...multiple boxes...when everything else was gone. It was even going for near normal prices. I should have picked up a box or two.

.38 spls, 9mm, .45 auto or Colt and even
44 mag is hitting on hard times, most rifle calibers are kot in good supply either
Pretty much sums it up.
Shotgun ammo is getting thin. Hopefully the turkey hunters saw the writing on the wall.
My shooting has turned to low volume 357 and 22-250.
The Krag will get its day when I get some bullets cast for it.

I shot a doe with mine yesterday- 180 grain core-lock. I got lucky and found 3 boxes for $50 at a gun show a moth or 2 ago from some guy liquidating random stuff. Otherwise I have to order it online for around $30 a box plus shipping.

That's nice. Most hunting is really inside iron sight range. Even here in oklahoma, I see more deer inside 150 yards than I do at 300.

My shot was all of 40 yards. It was weird, since I haven't shot at a deer with iron sights in decades. I bought that Krag carbine years ago and fired a few rounds out of it. I decided shooting a deer with it this year was going to be on my "bucket list". Now that I checked that block, next one I'm using my AR10 carbine that has only been used on targets so far.

When my great uncle gave me his issue Krag from before WWI, I ordered 200 new brass and a set of dies. After fifty years of funeral salute blanks and whatever Louie shot during the war and in lumber camps for a few years, my reloads are all it has had through it since '68.
