I just secured an order from Widener's, 8lbs of IMR 4895 for the Remmy 700 SPS .308 and an additional pound of H-4895 for the .223 Mini-14. My dad went in on the order with me, bought 8lbs of Accurate 2230 for his .223. Now I've got 3lbs of H-4895 and will have 8 lbs of IMR 4895.

The grand total came out to $316 for 17 lbs of powder, $18.50/pound, can't beat that!

I'm also assuming that IMR 4895 will work in the .223 also?

Yeah, powder seems to becoming more "available". I finally got some varget.

I just got a 8lb of 748 for 146.00 .I think that is a good price .

yes IMR 4895 will work for .223 but will not give exceptional velocity with it. That is of no concern to me though as that is not what I'm after in my loads.

I'll probably use my 3 lbs of H-4895 for the .223, as it is giving exceptional velocity and accuracy in my mini-14, averaging 2" groups and 3100 fps.
