Obviously an unforgettable experience! Were I to bid and win one of Keith's guns, I'd absolutely shoot it.

Cool, I noticed the steer head Ivory/ bone grips, was this his BBQ gun?
Oh no, it's well known that he had his pride and joy engraved guns refinished several times due to wear from use.

Always wondered how truthful the families of famous shootists were about the artifacts they sold.
There seemed to be an endless supply of Jesse James and Bat Masterson guns, for example.
And Ian, pardon the criticism, but some lessons on shooting a Magnum revolver seem to be in order.
There's some middle aged, gray haired guy by the name of Miculek selling videos on the subject.

That's a totally different gun Jerry is shooting. Looks to be longer than 6" barrel with full underdog, plus he used 180 gr bullets.

Seems to me the Keith gun has been auctioned more than once.

What an honor to be able to shoot that gun. Or should I say; "Hell, you were THERE!"... I've shot a lot of different guns in my life, but to shoot that one would have to be classified as my ultimate firearm fantasy.

Jesse James and Bat Masterson were not world famous gun writers who published countless articles with pictures of the guns in question. Big difference. The Keith guns are very well documented. Those in the auction were inherited by Keith's son Ted after his death and until recently, were in the Keith museum at the Boise Cabela's. No, the Keith collection has never been auctioned before and those at Julia were Keith's personal guns. There are other guns from the estate that Ted procured after his death, as he retained Elmer's Ruger Collector's Association subscription of the serial number 15 guns. These are on another auction site.

And what exactly is wrong with his shooting? Jerry is a speed shooter, he's no expert on heavy recoiling sixguns.

Lot's of firearms that "belonged" to Jeese James can be traced to his mother Zerelda. To make money she would buy cheap revolves and sell them as having been owned by her son.

Bat Masterson was not above buying a revolver and scratching his name on it and then selling it for a profit. He owned lot's of them, for about 1/2 hour!

That is why you buy the gun, not the story unless it is well documented.
