I have a question about Cabela's.

I have a couple of alerts set up on Wiki for 22LR ammo and I get them nearly every day with links to Cabela's. I have used them to purchase several thousand rounds of the ammo in the past month. MOST of the time they are advertising 100 ct boxes which with shipping would be high but the bricks seem to pop up at least once a week.

Why don't I see this from other online retailers like Bass Pro and Midway? Surely Cabela's isn't the only major company receiving 22LR.

I know less than nothing about how/why these guys advertise ammo online but it just had me wondering why I so seldom see ANY hits for 22 from the other major players and I see them multiple times per week from Cabela's. From the stores I have been in I know that Cabela's isn't known for their rock bottom pricing.

I have been using gunbot and it is the same way. Bass Pro does pop up once in a blue moon.

I get alerts from Midway every single day when they have new ammo in. You just have to have an account and sign up.

I haven't seen an alert from Midway on 22LR in a while. Lots and lots and lots of alerts from them but no 22LR.

I am set up for alerts on many retailers. Cabelas is the one that seems to get the most. Midway gets it once in awhile - but for me I have to pay shipping AND tax which makes it too expensive. I have it "shipped to store" from Cabelas so I just pay tax. I scored 1750 rounds of misc .22 from their website on Friday. Others are hit and miss. I got 2200 rounds from one of the local WalMarts a couple weeks ago - just happened to be there at right time and got the last 4 boxes. Missed another WM by 5 minutes the other day. It is out there for reasonable price - you just have to find it. I got 3 of the Blazer bricks from Cabelas - they were up for over 30 minutes...
I'm one of those who was not stocked up ahead of time. Now I'm trying to build my stock without breaking the bank. I am also buying for a friend who lives in a rural area and doesn't have access to HighSpeed Internet or big box stores...
