I just don't get it

Let's pray that Hillary will make more similar comments which will be on the evening news.

If her views could only be connected within a small sound byte to the goal of former Att. General Janet Reno to abolish private gun ownership, or Reno's words to that effect.

But it's already the law that not everyone can have any gun, any where at any time.

what is she saying that is so different from existing laws in 50 states and at the federal level?

Simple plan - VOTE. I know too many people who say "my vote doesn't count, anyways". Then I say to them, "then, shut the F**K up and quit whining - you HAVE NO VOICE".

What the whiners who don't vote because of a lack of a good candidate for POTUS fail to comprehend is this: the candidates for the other offices collectively hold a much greater influence over our lives than any president ever could. Thus, it is hugely important that we get out and vote in every election!

The problem is, IMHO, it is difficult to debate 'reasonable restrictions' rationally when a good portion of the other side believe gun ownership should be banned. I think it would be much easier to find the right balance surrounding gun ownership if I felt the other side was acting in good faith. But they are not. Because of that it is impossible for us to give an inch knowing they will be back for more tomorrow. We have tried that in the past and spent the better part of the last two decades trying to reverse it.
This. At one time, I would have been OK with making background checks for all purchases mandatory, if they were not onerous and misusing them or keeping records of them was a serious crime. In the last two years, though, the gun control advocates have changed my mind on that, because they have made it explicitly clear that *all* of their proposals are aimed squarely at harassing---or worse---as many lawful and responsible gun owners as possible. With the new laws in CT, NY, and Colorado, and the newest national proposals, the gun control movement let its "public safety" mask slip and revealed the true face underneath.

I agree, but I also feel like my support is an endorsement of, IMO, bad choices for president. Not voting for president or voting for a third party like Libertarian is tempting, but the consequences are pretty hard to bear.

Yeah...but she would have the most devastating weapon against our rights and not only the 2nd Amendment. A couple of very likely Supreme Court Justice appointments to replace the older conservative justices that could make the court not only extremely liberal but change the entire Constitution model. Never mind other Federal judges and government agency appointments...Attorney General...Health and Human Services...Treasury...etc.

Sotomeyer and Kagan are young and could theoretically go for another 30 years or longer with medical advances and just one young 'sister' SCOTUS justice could flip the court for essentially the rest of our over 40 year old guys lives.

Yep...I'm a Libertarian and extreme States Rightist but I'm going to vote Republican candidates these next two elections because of how critical they are. The Democrats vote as a party block; we conservatives need to also or it is game over. These next elections in 2014 and 2016 are as critical as 1776 and 1786.

God bless America and God save the Conservative Court.

Maybe we should start a petition and send it along to her. Facebook Is a good medium to use if someone wants to start it. Perhaps just a line like "Shall Not Be Infringed," these thins catch on fast, we could just put it up and see how many people sign it ? It's better than talking amongst each other because we are basically of the same belief. Maybe things like that would show her that people aren't going to sit still for her nonsense, and she isn't going to re write our Constitution.
If there is a better way please post it, the idea is to let these politicians know ahead of time that we are not going to stand for this crap anymore.

Years ago, the gun grabbers clearly stated their intentions. If we don't "Get It" and vote, we'll really "Get It."

Hillary Rodham Clinton is slowly dying on the vine for her failures as Secretary of State. This whole Boco Harem fiasco in Nigeria has " another Hillary Rodham Clinton failure" written all over it.

If the conservative parties can't put up a viable candidate it will be another "lesser of two evils" election. If that happens she may win the nomination.
