Local gunshop that I go to some times at lunch. Had just got a consigment
on a new in the box Norinco SKS THAT TAKES THE AK mags it has a thumbhole stock but the price was right $200. So I could not leave with out it I have seen these at gunshows for $350-400

Nornico is chinese IMHO my .00000000000000000000002 cents absolutely worthless.....

Get your money back.

I am Indian... and wouldnt advise you to buy Indian either.. no Ishapore's no ammo....
I know what happens in those plants.

Great deal.I paid $300.00 for a used SKS M a year or so ago and thought I did good until now.Great shooters.Look around for a Monte Carlo stock, you may like it better than the thumbhole.

I just got a Norinco SKS with all original matching parts in excellent coniditon with3 20-round detachable mags that work, sling, ~600 Russian FMJ and ~700 Norinco Softpoints for $250. Local, too. :)

I just check gunbroker they have 2 up for auction one just like the one I GOT STARTING BID 395 AND the other one has a buy it now price for $549 so I feel happier now

Great find. Makes a excellent back up for an AK. I got mine with 6 mags, 800 round of ammo and a case for $350. You did good. Look for the monte carlo stock if you can. It is much more comfortable.

Good find!

Those Norincos are getting harder to find these days and to get one NIB for $200 is a great deal don't let anyone convince you otherwise!

Afy what is wrong with the Ishapore 2A1? I have two that I have stripped and fully restored. These rifles are tack drivers as long as you use surplus .308. Who knows about the SKS they produce, even if they do, I dont not know.

Norinco SKSes -are- crap. I should know. They are crappy crappy crappy compared to Yugo or Russian. The metal is thinner, the wood is like craft wood, etc.

That said the Para model is quite nice and does the job. Norincos will do the job but don't expect anything more out of it, even aesthetics.

I have a regular 1978 Norinco that shoots and runs great. Out of the dozen SKS that I have of all makes, it's one of my favorites. Yea, it's got a lot of manufacturing shortcuts (pinned barrel, etc) and stock that looks like it's made out of pine, but it's lightweight, 100% reliable and shoots as good if not better than my Russians, Romanians, Yugos, etc. Chinese SKS also have chrome lined bores, which Yugos do not.

My SKS Sporter works just great too although I do find the AK magazine setup kind of klunky. Inserting a mags is much smoother on my SAR1, which certainly wouldn't be mistaken for the Cadillac of AKs.

I love my Norincos.

Coinshooter, you did good. The SKS models that take AK mags are highly desirable. You'd easily get your money back and then some if you decided to sell it.

Does yours say "SKS Sporter" or something else on the side of the receiver?

Does it go bang every time? Can it hit what you are aiming at? do you have fun shooting it? That is all that should matter. I just don't get the "brand" wars that go on all the time on the gun forums. For every single gun model or brand I have there are people out that say it the biggest peice of junk known to man. Why? who knows and who cares. If you like the Norinco and have fun with it. Enjoy. Lets go out shooting with my XYZ SKS and have some fun.
