Since I'm looking to get into practical shooting, it seemed like a good idea to get another gun, (like it's ever a BAD idea??).

Didn't really like my USP anymore, the new Colt Series 70 is just too darn pretty to put in a holster, (and my wife doesn't know about that one... :fire: wouldn't begin to describe the reaction). SO, to purge my sense of guilt / getting caught, I sold the USP to fund a(nother) 1911. Told Mrs. echo3mike (occasionally referred to by me as "Hillary"), about it to the response of "O.K., honey...whatever you want to do". :what:

Like any princess, there are quirks and minor ankle biters. But the frame and slide are in good condition and the folks here seem to know one or two things about the 1911 platform.

Thanks again, guys!

This thread gets my vote for best post subject of 2004. Of course, there's a lot of time left in the year. :p

I own a 1981 vintage Series 70 that I bought two years ago NIB condition. It is the only auto I own. I know what you mean. It is my carry handgun and sport handgun and plinker and ... I Just love it

Uh huh, right, don't worry, you will eventually pay! "Whatever you want to do" is usually translated as "go ahead, do it, you'll be sorry later!" In all seriousness, nice 1911-A1! Nice ammo too!

When it comes to 25 year old hotties, the Colt is cheaper and less dangerous than a woman!
