If you read mani of my posts, you will notice that I'm a big cheerleader for to ammo firms (Mastercast) www.mastercast.net and (Doubletap) http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/index.php

Both firms have excellent customer service and prices. I use mastercast for my range ammo and doubletap for my CCW ammo.

I just placed an order at 11:31am via the DT ammo website. I received and email from Mike Mcnett at 11:52am that my order was processed and yet another email at 1:33 that my order had been shipped!!! Two hours from order placement to shipping...THAT'S SERVICE!!!

Mike is a great guy, always responds to you if there is a problem or a back order...he's gotten a couple thousand bucks from me, and will get more when he comes out with the S&W .460 ammo he told me was coming this year...nobody makes better 10mm auto ammo than him

jad0110 you will love them. The DT 125's are my carry ammo. They sting a bit in my 638, but in an model 36...very nice!

I like their 125gr .38 Special +P ammo and carry it sometimes in my S&W M638. Their 180gr .357 Magnum Hard Cast ammo is a great woods carry round too.

DT is great in the right guns. It's so hot it's caused some malfunctions in some of my small guns that eat all kinds of other ammo. Could be operator error, but still you need to test in your specific gun!

My gun in question was a Kahr MK-40, steel frame. The weight should have been enough to control recoil, but no matter how hard I held on, the gun almost jumped out of my hand a few times! Couple FTF's too. Ran 2 or 3 mags and gave up. I'd hate to try DT in a PM40! Weird thing is, I've shot DT in my smaller KelTec P3AT and had no problems.

Mike's improving his service. But he's got a growing company with a lot of growing pains.

I placed an order with him for 350 rounds of ammo and 9X25 barrel on April 6. I got the ammo on May 23... without the barrel. He did respond quickly to tell me that I'd get the barrel by the 22nd, but so far, no luck.

That seems to be a common theme with him... there are more threads on this topic on other forums.

His products are well regarded and reasonably priced, however. I still look forward to being a long term customer of DoubleTap. Just allow some extra time when placing orders.
