I cleaned the new 3 inch SP101 and got to the range to shoot it today. I had very little 38 special or 357 ammo so I did not put even 50 rounds through it. Can't find any ammo either. After the first five 38s, I had trouble opening the cylinder but never again. No other issues after about 40 rounds. I shot one 357 through it. Recoil was stout but not painful, (especially after only one round.) I could only find six 357s (silvertips) that used to reside in a GP100 so I saved the other five for woodsbumming this coming week. I used to go through a lot of 38 specials and I can't believe I don't have some still. I may have to get my reloading equipment down from the attic. I'll try to get my daughter to take some good photos although it looks just like the one on the Ruger website. It seems lighter in weight than I remember SP101s being and I think I am going to like it for woodsbumming.
