OK, WAIT A MINUTE !!!

I was in a gun shop today looking for a full sized USP 45 ACP. I finally got to "fit" one to my hand. It was not bad but not quite "there" if you know what I mean.
Along side it in the case was an XD 45 ACP. Now, I know I said that when I tried it when they first came out that the fit was too small. Well, guess what? To my embarrassment :)o   ), it fits much better than the HK. What the heck?!?
So, now I am thinking, hey, it is half the price of the HK, fits me better, double stack 10 round magazine (changable to 13 if I move to a more firearm friendly state, and I trust the XD's because I already own an XD9 (which I like but is a tad too small). Plus the salesman was a very pleasant, knowledgable, no-pressure type of guy. When I buy my gun it will be from this shop.
OK, so now I visit my regular gun shop and spy a S&W P99, made by Walther in .45 ACP. I try this gun out and - BAM - it feels even better in my hand that the XD. They are neck and neck in price.
Right now I think I will go with the XD because of my reasons above, plus the fact that I have had one very annoying experience with S&W customer service. Go figure...

Just FYI- The pic of the PT145 on the Taurus site is old. All the current generation PT145's have rails.

I'd take the S&W P99 .45. Great gun, more pleasing on the eyes than the xd. Also never heard of any issues.

I have a LNIB Glock(3rd gen) model 30 w/rail, 2mags, and Fobus paddle holster that I'd sell for $500+shipping to your FFL.
