What pistol would you use for, lets say war combat.

I recently sold my Beretta 92fs because i was in need of funds. Now im in the market for something new and need a replacement.

Although i know plenty people would opt for the single stack .45 for whatever purpose, that just will not do! I do have a Sig p220 that i love, but i want something in case there are 50+ zombies :neener: :neener: .

Here are the guidelines:

1. Double stacked magazine
2. Does not need to be concealable
3. Availible hi cap mags.
4. Good options for accessories.

Im really looking at the Baby Eagle.

What is your suggestion? Reasons?

SigP226

I love my full size 226. A new one with a rail would be even more "accessory" friendly. Double Stack definely. In 9mm you can even get 20rd mags! Very durable, user friendly and a reputation other companies wish they had. You can't go wrong!

Glock G17. Fits your requirements, will be cheapest to own in the long run because of mags, parts & accessories.

Go for Smith & Wesson M&P. They come in 9mm, .40, .357, and .45 and compact sizes as well.

G19C

Glock 19C. Unless you have huge hands, go with the 19C. The 19C is the same height as a 1911. The grip, for me, is quite comfortable, and with the compensator slots in the barrel/slide, follow-up shots are fast and accurate! Note that the carry Glocks (the 26, 19C, 17) all accept the 15, 17 and 33 round magazines. :) Regardless of what you buy, buy comfort first, followed by excellent reliability! Rent the make/model and try it. Rental also hold the value of showing you how it will last.

Note: Where I buy my pistols, the owner gives me the rental FREE, for the final 2 or 3 pistols under consideration for a factual purchase. I only have to buy the ammo. What I owe him for the free rental is an immediate purchase! For example, when I was looking at 9mms, I wanted either a Glock 17, 19 or 26. He gave me the rentals all free. I fired 1 box of 9mm through each pistol. I bought the 17. A few months later, same thing; I wanted either the 19C or the 26. He gave me free rental, and I fired 1 box through each. I bought the 19C.

There are several worthy handguns that I would consider, but I'll have to stick with my 1911, it's the one I trust the most.

I would recommend going to the local gun shop and looking at a Glock pistol. Each pistol has its own feel to it, different calibers may fit your hand better. I prefer Glock out of simple trust that it will work when I need it to. The accessories and add-on parts are inexpensive and easy to find, you can get extra high capacity magazine for around $17 a piece (www.cdnninvestments.com). If you decide Glock is not what you want, go for something else. Like I said I trust Glock , and I am glad to hear that you tossed your Beretta, I spent a year in Iraq with one , and it would never function correctly, it would have made a good paper weight for an administrative clerk though. Good Luck.

I'm personally not a fan of the baby eagle at all, but thats just my opinion. Since you're against a single stack .45, how about a double stack .45 like the XD45 or a Para-Ord high cap 1911. I for one (and again, just my opinion) wouldn't take a 9mm to a real gunfight.

I've got a P14 (Doublestacked 1911)

HK USP .45 would also be a good option. (I found one for a buddy for $600, if he ever sells it he hasto sell it to me.)

Raging Zombies?

Glock 17 or 19 can get 50 round mags or HK Mp5k centerfire for that higher cyclic rate of 1200 rounds per minute.

Why reinvent the wheel?

I prefer : a bone stock Gov't Model of 1911 USGI/Colt 7 round mags.

OLDer S&W Military & Police , Revolver. 3" RB HB, with fixed sights.

Now I am just a regular old guy, and the way I was raised, Mindset, Awareness, Training , and Adopt, Improvise Overcome were instilled.

Run what you brung

Hear about the 70 year Marine in port during a cruise? Yep he and other older folks in Port , were approached by a 20 y/o thug with a handgun.
70 y/o Marine broke 20 y/o thugs neck, barehanded. Killed the thug.
Another knife wielding thug, turned tail and run.

Combat? I dunno, Older folks in another country, no guns, and they "run what they brung" and survived.

Lessons in this incident, good ones too.

Another vote for Glock. Accessories are easy to come by and the factory magazines are the cheapest by far and they work 100%. I also say 9mm if you plan on shooting a lot, unless you have a lot of extra disposable income.

S&W M&P .45 . . . they're just becoming available or a HK USP would also be a good choice. I'd have a hard time deciding between those. If you like the Baby Eagle platform and can do with 9mm caliber-wise, the CZ SP-01 is hard to beat with 18-19 round capacities, rail, etc. It was made for combat.

Whether you're talking real combat (ball ammo only) or mall ninja combat (high-tech expanding bullets allowed) makes all the difference. In case of the former, a .45 is the way to go IMHO.

Your looking at the same action....but go with a full sized CZ-75. Get yourself some hogue grips, and night sites.

"run what they brung"

LOL sm!!!

Get any well known gun (many have been sugested here) in a calliber you can afford to shoot, and shoot it till you know that it is relliable. Then shoot it a heck of a lot more till it becomes an extension of your hand. Then shoot it some more:neener:

Take a look at CZs if you're considering a baby eagle.

I love my CZ-SP01...and 19 round mags are always nice for that zombie invasion (until you can get to your shotgun of course) ;)
