This board has been bad for me in many ways. Not only have a changed a few of my left leaning gun rights opinions after listening to some arguments from people on this board whom I would have said were more pro-gun than I was at the beginning but it has also been bad for my wallet. I started off the month of Feb owning only two weapons (not counting my knife collection). I owned a Taurus .357 mag HD weapon (not in the pic) and a little NAA .22 mag (bottom shelf). Now it is just about 3 weeks later and I this is what I have. Is there any cure for this or am I just doomed? :D

Unfortunately, your still on your first safe:(

Anyhow, rather since being a 'nut' has a negative charm for you, would you rather be a gun afficienado?

Good Job!

I am on my first safe, and it is just about max capacity. Although, as time goes on - you gain experience on how to stack/pack/fill a safe for maximum use.

That safe looks like a Sentry. Not a bad safe for starters. It has a long, long way to go before it is full. I've seen some pictures of people's safes who fill them so well and methodically, it is almost an artform.

Looks like you need more rifles and shotguns!

Good start. Now do you have the ammo to go with that?

Ah.

The curse - or is it a blessing? - of THR.

Welcome to the club, my Pac NW friend. ;)

Hope all is well in Vancouver
(where a homeless person suffered death
from hypothermia this weekend :uhoh: ).

Your hosed - I bought my first gun in Jan 05.....one year and one month later, I just ordered gun number 22. Thats an average of 1.7 guns a month. Im trying to cut down to 1 gun a month for the next year........trying!?

Why'd you buy such a small safe?

I had five firearms when I began coming around gun forums. I've over fifty now.

You're just barely felt the first symptoms of the ailment.

It is still a simple job to empty your safe and replace it with very big one. Even better...do you have a spare bedroom? If so, you can harden it and put a gun vault door on it.

Might as well plan for the future now.

I would like to recommend getting numerous small safes...it makes moving much easier. I have a 4 foot wide Liberty, and just moving it from one end of the basement to the other requires at least a case of beer, due to the employment of the goon squad.

A safe the size of yours, I could move myself.

Follow?

doomed:uhoh:
I just started shooting 5 years ago
bought a 22LR rifle (CZ 452)
moved twice, etc remodeled a house got married and turned her into a gun too.
we now have like ummm, more than one.
The safe is pretty full.
doomed.

Not only will you soon be buying a new safe, you will soon be bashing Bush because of his loony left wing views.

THAT is when you will know you have completed your journey.:D

Pistol racks

PP, have you seen the pistol racks that allow you to stand seven or eight pistols in something like a carpet covered mini-bike rack that fit in each section of your safe. Where you now have one pistol laying on it's side, you would have eight with their grips facing towards you.

When you get all your sections that full, then your safe is STARTING to get crowded.

I do think you're doing well though, and yes, you are by all means doomed. When they (guns) just start to look "pretty" all by themselves. When you just like to rub them with a rag and oil them for the fun of it. When you always know you need "one more", when you start to collect ten or so of one model, in different variations...you know you are doomed.

I think if you engrave Superman on your Marlin, you're doomed. You've got the bug BAD Penguin.

Glad you've decided to be one of us. :)

You're Jones'in, P.P.!

I can relate. This site (THR) is like an alcoholic working in a liquor store..the temptation is too much...always there!

I, like yourself, started out with two (2) pistols. As Nematocyst-870 pointed out, a Remington 870 would be an excellent acquisition! Ahh, I love mine. Built to last!

Given your time line, however, you are ahead of me in the addiction department. I have all but committed to the new Model 29 S&W has coming out. Always wanted a cannon..this seems ideal!

I have gotten my Concealed Carry..how are you doing in that department?

Hang in there, P.P...you are not alone!

I have seen them but not been able find them. I looked on the net and in my gun shops but I am not sure what they are called. As for the superman engraving...what can I say...it was something I just had to do.

Actually, I have had a CCW permit in one state or another for the last 15 years. I have just never carried. the most I have done is take a glove box weapon with me when I travel.

I can vouch for that one.

I've had to move more than I ever wanted to in the last few years. You would not believe the moaning and groaning you hear from the moving crew when they discover that you own a large gun safe. :cuss: Especially if there are stairs involved where you're going to/coming from. It's actually potentially hazardous sometimes.

More and smaller safes works really well.

:)
