Found a nice old Marlin levergun in .30-.30 a few days ago at my local gunshop. It's on hold for me, and I plan to pick it up tomorrow. It looks like a gun that has been handed down from father to son before - it looks old and rugged, but in that classic sort of way. I'm just getting into hunting, and have purchased a couple of rifles recently that make this gun superfluous. (I love this local gun store, btw - I find all these great used guns at great prices!) I picked up a 7 mm Rem mag, and a 6.5x55 Swede carbine. I also recently purchased a Rossi levergun in .357/38 for plinking, rabbits, etc. I bought the Swede as my main hunting rifle - I figure it's just fine for deer, black bear, and javelina. So I don't NEED the .30-.30, but it's only $149 -- how can I not buy it???

BUY IT!!!!! I've been looking high and low for one and can't find one much under 250. Let me know how you like the rossi i'm thinking about getting one to go with my blackhawk. Not necessarily a rossi but a lever gun in 357

i did the same thing about a week ago. found a 336CS at a pawn shop in really nice shape. it has an older bushnell scope mounted on it already. a little more than what you paid, but i think i did good on it. $149 is an awesome price
