Do I Need Another Rifle?

Not from Scandinavia.

I think that the 7 and 6.5 fills a large area. Thought about the 45-70 or something in that area.....

Used to have many various calibers. As said, I have been simplifying ammo selection. Makes things a lot simplier and i like it better. That is why I don't want 2 or 3 different calibers that will do very similar things. Too many ammo variations to keep up with that way.

Gave 30-30 to brother to use. Still mine, just he feeds it now.......

Asking that question on THR forum is like going into a crack house and asking the occupants if you need another hit :D

In the spirit of rehab, send all your rifles to me and never go near a gunshop or gunshow again...only then will you be cured :what: :neener::):)

The dilemma you run into is the more rifles you buy, often the more ammo you require- and you are constantly buying more and more different types of ammo. It makes stocking up more difficult.

In my experiences, the people who often buy a ton of rifles do so more to create a huge collection of "safe queens" to show off to company and friends- and they normally don't get to use them very often.

Evaluate what purpose your next rifle will serve.

I saw bolt gun calibers save for the 223...is it an AR? You need a 308 semi auto! Since you have a 7mm Mag - no need for a 30 cal bolt gun.

I did not read your post, I did not read the replies... the title was all I needed to read, "Do I Need Another Rifle?" -> Yes.

Why? -> Because.

Because what? -> Because your other rifles are tired of each other and they need a new friend.

What no muzzle loader? or at least a blackpowder cartridge rifle......
both can fill the large calibre opening you have, and add something entirely new and different at the same time.just a thought.

Along those lines do you shoot any pistols or revolvers? A like chambered carbine is always nice for shared ammo. For example I have a revolver and a Marlin '94 both in .45 Colt. I have a Marlin Camp Carbine in .45 ACP which plays nice and shares mags with my 1911s. A Marlin or Winchester 94 in .357 Magnum is next on the list, along with some variety of 9mm carbine which uses some common pistol mag. We'll just have see what shows up at the right price first.

You absolutely NEED a 7.62x45 (no, that’s not a typo). It’s the cartridge most VZ.52 rifles were chambered for.

To the original question of "Do I need another rifle?" I bring up a simple answer, "ABSOLUTELY! You ALWAYS need another rifle, and another shotgun and another revolver and another pistol. It keeps the economy working!"

You need a benchrest rifle: 6PPC or 6mmBR
You need a mid-bore: .375 H&H
You need a double rifle for a stopper. You know, a H&H double in .700 Nitro with express sights.
You need a buffalo gun, like a Shiloh Sharps in .45-70 or .45-90 with a tang and globe sight.
You need a .32 flintlock longrifle for squirrels. (Hey, they're a hoot!)
You need a tactical bolt rifle, the Taleban might get suicidal and invade: an SPR, Sako TRG, or Accuracy International bolt rifle in .308 Win. Get a S&B scope with a ranging reticle.
You need An AR-10, and 2 AR-15(s) an M4-gery and an A2
You need a longer range .22 Say .22-250AI or .220 Swift?
You need a F-Class setup in 6.5x284

That should keep you going until next year.
