I would be interested if someone with more knowledge than me could run through a comparison of the 5.7x28mm round with other similar cartridges, whether wildcats like the 5.7mm Johnson or more common ones like the .22 Hornet or event the rimfire .22 Magnum.
Just so everyone is clear, this is the round developed by FN-Herstal for the FN P90 PDW and PS90 carbine, and the FiveseveN pistol. Think "honey, I shrunk the .223" and you get the idea.
While the purpose of the military loading of this round is specifically to defeat body armor (and therefor very much restricted) there are a couple of civilian legal loadings (in countries where military calibers are not banned outright) now that make this a potentially interesting cartridge for sporting pistols and carbines. The ammo is also not too expensive at under USD$20 per 50.
That's about all I know, so I'd like to hear from the reloaders and ballistics gurus on the pros and cons of this cartridge.
