I am looking to get a .308 bolt gun with the following specifications:

#1.) No more than $600
#2.) Potential 1 1/2' moa out of the box (although I realize that is heavily dependent on ammo)
#3.) Set up to have a scope (tradtional rear mounted, I don't want a scout setup)
#4.) Detachable magazine with a higher than 5 round capacity (potential)
#5.) Must be synthetic stock.

I'm wondering if there is anything out there which fits my specifications anyone knows about.

Well, other than the detachable mags (which, IIRC, not that many, if any, stock bolties come with detachable mags holding that much) there are some savages that fit the bill. I will look it up soon.

Tikka, I'm looking at them right now. Detachable magazine (3-6 rounds depending), sub MOA and right around $600.

I have a 700 BDL SS with a box magazine. I might be willing to part with it. It only holds 3 rounds though.

The Tikka fits the bill, and there are supposedly magazines for it that will hold more than the standard capacity. There are photos of these out there, but no one has ever actually held one. The standard magazines though for Tikkas are cheap plastic things that will cost $60 each and are never in stock anywhere.

I am not sure what you are planning to do with the rifle, but if it was me, I would not want a detachable magazine in a bolt action.

Just spotted a Remington SPS with heavy bbl, 308 Win, Synthetic Stock 4-12x40mm scope for $569 at Dicks Sporting Goods...looked nice enough.

I'm seriously considering a bolt rifle in 308. A couple that have caught my eye are the FN PBR XP in 308. I have read a lot of good things about it. I wopuld get one with a 20 inch barrel (fluted) for hunting.
These come with a box mag or hinged floor plate. $699 CDNN

Another one that I looked at was a Howa 1500 lightning in 308. 569.00 with a camo stock and free scope. Heard these are good rifles as well.

Hope this helps!

H-S Precision sells a 10 round detachable magazine conversion for Remington 700 308s. The kit costs $250-$300 though so that pretty much blows your budget.

I am utterly amazed no one came up with the concept that someone might want to have more than 4 or 5 rounds in a bolt action in stock condition. I am looking at the Remington 700SPS. Sounds like a steal if you can get one at Dick's prices.

Tikka

I like the TIKKA T3. I currently have one in 6.5 swede, and am thinking about getting one in .308. The single column mags work great, and the 5 round mags are out there. I find the shorter 3 round mags to my liking, and are frankly one of my favorite features of the rifle.

And yeah, they really shoot great.
