1. Browning, without a doubt.

2. Jeff Cooper
3. Chuck Taylor

4.... Not sure... Maybe Dana Kamm. Just because I've been reading his posts for so long on here and on the 1911forum that I almost feel like he's a distant relative. Maybe El Tejon... He's pretty local and seems like a general all around good guy. :p

Is It Tomorrow, Yet?

#1. Peter Hathaway Capstick
#2. Robert Ruark
#3. Finn Aargaard (sp.)
#4. Elmer Keith (again)

Lewis Wetzel - learn more about frontier life and his techniques for loading on the run. Imagine how much you can learn about scouting from videotaping him in the woods for just one hour?
Truman Head - California Joe, the Berdan Sharpshooter. Easily the most famous of all Berdan's Sharpshooters, very little is known of his actual exploits. He could fill a book with stories.
Tom Plunkett - British Rifleman - another person whose stories could fill a book.
John Browning - I'd love to show him some sketches of modern guns or concepts on how they work and let them ferment in his fertile brain. The things he could achieve with the technology we have today would startle us.

1) Robin Olds (USAF ace)
2) John Farnam
3) Mas Ayoob, and...

4) C.R. Sam

I've never met C.R. Sam but, based on his posts, I suspect he would be an interesting dinner companion and someone from whom I could learn a lot.

I'm gonna pass on nameing 4 people......I just wanted to say that I'm happy so many of you picked.....Gunny Sgt Carlos Hathcock.
Shows good taste folks.:)

Mas Ayoob
Jerry "the burner" Barnhart or Rob "TGO" Leatham
Pat Rogers
Jeff Cooper

Two lists:

The old guys:

Heston
keith
Browning
Jordan

The new guys:

Any politician who can knock off one of the following four communists:

Clinton (H)
Schumer
Kennedy
Feinstein
(only four??? So many undesirables, too few choices)

1) Robert Heinlein - Not just guns, overall cool guy.
2) Samuel Clemens - For the same reason as Heinlein.
3) Jesus - Like the thread starter, I'm Jewish, so mainly to ask him is he was really the son of God, ya know, for laughs. Then ask him how he feels about murder in his name. Light conversation, because He's probably a lot cooler than the Catholic church makes Him out to be. :D
4) Ted - The Nuge is crazy, i'd definately get along with him, or at least just get a kick out of meeting him.

Just thought of a few more names to add to my long list.

John F. Kennedy. Just to meet him and find out where he was really coming from.

Adolph Hitler. Evil bastard that he was, he had a few flashes of brilliance.

And for a group of six;

Harlon Block
John Bradley
Rene Gagnon
Ira Hays
Mike Strank
Franklin Sousley

And I don't think ANYBODY has mentioned Sam Colt.

My list:

Elmer Keith
Ed McGivern
Skeeter Skelton
Teddy Roosevelt

subs:

Bill Jordan
W.K.M. Bell
Jeff Cooper
John Browning
Kit Carson
