Couldn't do it. I'd have to have one 22lr and one centerfire. The 22 would be my CZ452 and if I had the money a 7mm-08 on a Mauser action with a 20" barrel. Pretty hard to come home with an edible rabbit using a centerfire designed for big game.

For a long time, my "go to" has been a Remington Model 7 in .308, Leupold Vari-X 2-7X Compact, in an H.S. Precision sporter stock.

My Ruger 77 Mk.II RDX in .30-06 w/ Nikon 3-9 has killed everything from Blacktail at 25 yds to Elk at 150 yds. to Antelope at 350 yds. I've played with other rifles in other calibers, but I always go back to the sub MOA Ruger.

Probably my Ruger orange pad M77 in 270 Winchester. Followed by my REP Marlin 336SS 30-30. 3C

At the time, I did a lot of researching, and decided that a SAKO Finnbear in 30-06 was going to be my one and only.

It is still a good rifle, even after swapping stocks

Since then, I have gone nut case and bought too many rifles in too many calibers. So much for good intentions and the common sense of not owning too many different calibers! But I think were I to start over, it would be a M70 with a claw extractor in 30-06:

Whatever the rifle, it would still be in 30-06. You know, you don't have to magnumize a 30-06 to have excellent performance and accuracy. It operates very well with loads under 50,000 CUP.
