IL citizens get to concealed carry

Well, IL can join the rest of the nation by being able to carry concealed. A ruling today confirmed that citizens have the right to carry for self defense outside the home too.

While definitely a welcome step forward, the cynic in me cannot help but wonder how the IL legislature will manage to find a way to goof this up. They've been given 180 days to assemble the mandated legislation and they cannot be happy about that.

I get the feeling that the new CCW law will be burdened with all sorts of "common-sense restrictions" just like our good friends in D.C. did right after losing Heller.

Well, no matter how you look at it, it is a step forward. I'm sure they'll load it down with fees, permits, classes, etc but at least there is some hope for people when there was none before. I know, I lived there for over 50 years. It was hopeless before.
