Fingerprints are not required to obtain an Illinois concealed carry permit. However, if you don't include them with your application you'll have to wait an additional 30 days before your application is approved. They have to be electronic prints. How much more is this going to cost in addition to the $150.00 permit fee? What would you do? Submit the fingerprints or wait the additional 30 days?

In TX is around 10-12 bucks (if I recall correctly) for electronic fingerprinting. Its probably the same company that would do yours in IL. (L1 Identity Solutions)

It would certainly be worth it for the express service to me.

The ISRA just sent out an email with a link to a list of electronic fingerprinting vendors in Illinois. It should be available on their website. Most of the vendors are in the Chicago area. The closest to me is in Bloomington at Tactical Solutions (IIRC). I intend to contact them for pricing then decide how to proceed from there.

I personally will not pay to advance the date of issuance of my permit by 30 days. Those Livescan places charge about $55. Kinda pricey for an extra 30 days. I'v been "transporting" a firearm for years, 30 days isn't that much extra of a wait to be able to "carry" a firearm.

I'd be willing to pay up to about 20 bucks, no more.

I'd wait the extra 30 days in order to avoid giving them my fingerprints, regardless how much is costs. I'm all for giving them as little information as I can just on the principle.

I doubt you will be able to have them done for under $40 anywhere in Illinois. I have a friend who just had them done in Effingham for a private security guard card...$53.00

Just another ploy in the arsenal of corruption to "harass" individual Americans in their desire to practice the Freedoms our Constitution garentees.
What irks me is how much garbage can be layed down and the courts sit idle by considering these steps as reasonable.
The government should have to prove beyond any dought why any of us are not in the right to carry any weapon we choose at any time, anywhere.
Mike in Peru but I live in Danville when up north there.

Tactical services charges $75. Had to submit them to apply for ccw instructor certification, along with notarized signature form, copies of training certificates and on and on.
