Calls to House legislators and the creation of witness slips are needed as the Illinois House considers some pro-2A and anti-gun legislation this week.
The message to legislators should be:
1) No bad Carry bill
2) No more gun bans or gun control
3) No to any other bills the City of Chicago may want until they respect the Second Amendment.
4) Thank you to those who supported Amendment 27 in the House – the Phelps carry “bill”
This week we're fighting a proposal for Illinois to divest of firearms manufacturing companies (some of the most profitable investments the Illinois pension fund holdings).
A major bill being proposed is legislation which would prevent cities from enacting local anti-gun ordinances which are more restrictive than state law. This will be important if the anit-gunners force the issue into constitutional carry.
We're also trying to get legislation passed that would bring the transportation of a firearm on an ATV in line with wildlife code and some other gun legislation.
For up to the moment updates, IllinoisCarry.com does a great job of tracking the legislative proceedings to give people current - up to date information on all the bills and all the amendments.
