I'm familiar with cross merchandising but this is a new one.

I got in a brick of ammo from Cabela's last week and this was included in the box. Not sure how this works but maybe firearms enthusiasts need more energy?

They must be out of the camouflage green apple ones, the last few orders I have made have had the green apple ones in them

UPS just delivered a brick of Blazer 22. No 5 Hour Energy? Now I feel slighted! I'll never again order from Cabela's unless they send me my energy drink!

BTW. Cabela's had the Blazer ammo available again today at the same price but shipping was $8.95 for one box. The box I got in today was $5.95 for shipping. I guess that's one way to raise prices and blame it on UPS.

We have a pile of the things. Every Cabela's order that shows has the 5 hour energy stuff. Wish we were getting the jerky that would be cool. :)

That's interesting, i wonder if an advertiser is paying for the addition to the item. It'd be even nicer if you could select what you were getting. I'm a beef jerkey lover and I'd pick that over the energy drink any day of the week. Of course I'm in the middle of a caffeine and energy drink dry out after a nasty two day ongoing multiple kidney stone episode so that might just be me.

I got a box of .22 from them a couple weeks ago, no energy. Just ordered a box today and noticed the upped shipping. Oh well, .7c per rd shipped and I didn't have to waste time and gas driving isn't bad. Maybe I'll get the energy or jerky this time!

Something that gives me the jitters? No thanks. Reminds of the Blazing Saddles clip "Steady as a rock... Yea. But I shoot with this hand." see below:

5-hour energy is (supposedly) designed to not give you the jitters. It's not like Monster or Red Bull (or even Mt. Dew or Coffee) which give you a short boost and then you crash. It's designed to give you natural energy for a while (5 hours).

If I'm doing an all-night gaming marathon I'll chain-chug energy drinks. If I've got an early day at work, though, I'll use 5-hour.

I'm sure this is a promotion by 5-hour energy and probably a pretty effective one in that they're more likely to reach folks that have never tried their product than they would be if they gave product away at the local mall or wherever.

I received something recently that had a promotional 5H-energy bottle in the box, but I don't believe that it was gun related.

Sportsmans Guide almost always has the 1 hour Enery Drinks in each shipment.

I can't stand the taste of the stuff, but I probably have a dozen of the sample bottles by now. If I'm ever pulling an all-nighter, I know how I'll be staying awake.

Okay. All of you who don't want your 5 hour energy drinks at least know someone on here who likes em :p

I don't know about you guys but I was pretty stoked when they threw that in there LOL

I wonder if the free "gift" increases the mailing weight which raised the shipping prices? Or?

My uncle drank one of those 5 hr energy shots and wound up in the emergency room from a bad reaction to it. So they are not completely safe to drink.

CDNN use to include some pretty decent gun related stuff with their orders, like shooting glasses, foam ear plugs, and some sort of little multi-tool.

There was a parts supplier that specialized in stuff for water cooled VWs that I used to order from. Every package always came with a bag of some variety of M&Ms.

Never quite understood why but I discovered the peanut butter ones are my favorite.
