I have three Accuracy International rifles. They're chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor (.308 Win), .300 Win Mag and .338 LM. Despite all three rifles consistently producing 5 to 10-shot groups in the 0.2 to 0.3 moa range at 100 yards, and despite all of the opinions on which is more accurate or easier to shoot at 1000 yards +, I find the .338 LM the most consistent in a wide variety of conditions. I have an 18" round steel target at my house that is 1050 yards from my back door and it's kind of easy to hit it with the .338 LM. At that range the 6.5 has a little less drop but a little more wind drift. There's something special about the .338 LM that transcends ballistic tables, recoil calculators and opinion.
I'm shooting 140gr A-MAX (ELD Match) at 2,900 fps from my 6.5 Creedmoor with pressure around 59,000 psi.
With the right powder (usually H4350), the 139 - 142gr bullets were capable of 2800fps easily while staying within SAAMI pressure specs.
