Well if you are cheap, then I suggest a Ruger 10/22, because you aren't going to want to spent alot on ammo either.

It would help if you said what you want to do with it.

i am saying that i am cheap as in wear i shoot so like idont care what it looks like or ammo cost geeze :banghead: i just want plinking and accuracy. so far i have .38spl .22lr pistol .12ga and .22lr rifle

You need a larger caliber rifle to go with your set. Get a SKS and you'll have enough left to buy some ammo and practice with it.

Mosin nagant. 30-06 power, cheaper right now to shoot than an sks. Decent accuracy, do a search, big big following the gun should cost less than 15 and that is the very high end, ammo can be had for about fifty bucks for 440 rounds to your door, cheaper if you can pick it up at a gun show.

Sounds like your collection has almost all bases covered, now you need a high powered rifle. Mossbereg ATR's can be had for $250, you could probably find a savage bolt gun for around $350. I'd stick with one chambered in 30-06 or .308 for comparative ammo economy and versitility. I bought a bushnell 3/9 scope for $60 at wallmart; its far from perfection, but its acceptable for an economy rig.

Depending on your needs you could also consider a mosin, SKS, or an AK. I believe the Bulgarian AK's are reasonably accurate.

Being on a college budget means I'm cheap too:p
It gives you a unique perspective and a chance to test the hell out of a few dearly paid for firearms. It reminds of the old time hunters who, because of the expense, had to make a kill with every cartridge.

Enjoy whatever you pick

russian surplus!!!

You don't have a large-bore rifle yet, so there you go.

In your price range your best bet is to go with a Mosin-Nagant or an SKS.

Mosin-Nagant:
Cost: Generally between $70-$100
Action: Bolt Action, 5 round fixed magazine
Ammo Cost: 7.62x54R surplus about 10cents per round
Recoil: High
Bonus: High-powered rifle for cheap, doubles as a flame thrower and roasting spit;
$350 get you: A nice bolt-action rifle and 2500 rounds

SKS:
Cost: Generally $140-$200
Action: Semi-Automatic, 10-round fixed magazine
Ammo Cost: 7.62x39 surplus about 15 cents per round
Recoil: Medium
Bonus: Takes the same round as the AK-47 if you eventually get one of those
$350 Gets you: A nice auto-loading rifle and about 1000-1500 rounds of ammo

Ask around gun shops, or go to a gun show. Also aimsurplus.com for all your russian milsurp needs.

Plenty of good options for rifles in the $350 range as the many replies show, but I think from your post that you looking for a pistol...

Kel-Tec in 9mm will run you less then $300. Some people love em and say no problems, others say don't trust em, so your mileage may vary.

Hi-Point in 9mm will set you back about $200 at most. For $350 you could probably manage to come up with a Hi-Point 9mm pistol AND a Hi-Point 9mm carbine. Hi-Point has a lifetime warrantee, but their guns are fugly. Like the Kel-Tec's though many people say don't trust em.

If you shop around $350 will get you a used CZ-75 that everyone I have talked to have said great, awesome, incredible or some derivative of that (for that price point). You won't have much left over for extra mags or ammo though, if any left over at all.

Bersa's come in a little less then the CZ's I think, but haven't really done any shopping or research on those so can't say either way on em.

That's just a few options.

Personally I'd take that $350 and put it as down payment on layaway for a brand new CZ, or something a little more. $150 more ($75 a month on 60 day layaway) will put you in the $500 price range and there are a lot more reliable pistols in that range then there is in the $350 range.

Whichever though I would not recommend going less then 9mm unless you already have a piece and looking for a backup or specifically looking for a .22 for plinking/target shoot purposes.

Do the Mosin Nagant. My buddy just picked up an all matching
91/30 for $89 OTD at a show today.
He got to pick out of @ 20 guns. When we got home I sold him
a case of Hung. LB for $81.
So for $170,he got an all matching rifle(all the extras with it) and
880 rds. of good shooting steel core ammo.
HELL you can get a rifle and 2600 rds. for your cash.
Gives you LOTS of practice ammo, and some to put away.

Pistol

. . . new used just powerfull for oregon. a pistol

Original post says pistol.

Original post also says powerful.

And $350 . . . so . . .

Powerful starts at 9mm and goes to .45 calibre.

At $350, a pistol, somewhere between 9mm and .45 . . . hmmm.

Well, a Ruger Blackhawk in .357 would be right around $350 (used, in good shape).

Taurus does a reasonable .357 revolver in that same price range.

Something in a used S&W .357 will run just over $350.

Also at the used counter, you may find S&W 59xx or 69xx 9mm pistols in that price range.

If the gods smile on you, it's just barely possible you could find something in .45 ACP at the used counter for $350 -- but if you do, check its teeth and toes, it may have problems.

Now, you can also get (new) a range of Taurus pistols in 9mm, .40 cal, and .45 cal, all in that $350 bracket.

In your shoes (depending on lots of information I don't have) I would probably look for a .357 revolver, starting with the Blackhawk. My thinking is that the .357 can eat the same food as your .38 spl.

I have, from time to time, seen used Ruger (Blackhawk, GP100, SP101), S&W, and Taurus revolvers in .357 in that price range.

If I were going to say more, I'd need more application information to frame the context.

If you're wanting a hand gun, I say go for a used Ruger GP100 stainless steel 4 inch barrel .357. Ya might even be able to pick up a 6 inch barrel for $350. JMHO.

Peace and God bless, Wolfsong.

Well If I was back In college.. and I had 350.. and no girlfriend =)

I'd get a Surplus CZ-52 for $150 OTD and two cases of 762x25 Romanian or Bulgarian.

Very accuate gun. Very powerful round (will go through Level II armor!). Maybe even too powerful - but then he said he wanted to plink, right? Cheap ammo - solid gun... what's not to love?
