I have a friend in Russia who knows quite a few firearm and ammunition factories including barnuel. Im wondering how ide go about ordering guns and ammo from Russia. Im sure i would have to become an FFl at least for the firearms portion, but thats not to hard to do.
Any ideas???

FFL, import/export license & permits, ITAR registration, sufficient cash on hand to purchase the foreign goods and have them sit in customs for months on end without sales, liability insurance, legal fees (you WILL need a lawyer)...

Unless you already have experience regarding import laws and have lots of start up cash I think this will be a lot harder than you think. You might be better off approaching a company that already imports firearms and negotiate a deal to "sell" your connections in Russia to them in exchange for a finders fee or percentage of profits.

Start up cost isnt a big deal, I already import the products for my crrent company from overseas. I have 3 lawyers haha.
Lets scrap the firearms portion and just focus on the ammo portion. How about that?

If you have three lawyers versed in import/export law, why not consult them? Even for ammo, you're still going to have to deal with ITAR (they should know more on this) and the customs regs.

forget about it.....if you need to go to the 'net to find this answer rather than pay to consult a lawyer, you probably should forget about importing anything remotely related to ammo.

I did consult a lawyer yesterday actually, this is a forum... its for discussions not bashing people. Hence why I asked before consulting a lawyer just to see what people know.

The US needs jobs, especially in the manufacturing sector. There is a lot of real esate at very low prices. Also, if Obama passes the tax reduction for hiring new employees that would provide even more incentive. Not bashing, just saying.

The last non-industry kid that imported foreign ammunition in bulk made millions -- and went to jail.
