im looking for a good quality rifle and scope setup for coyote hunting and the occisnal deer that is capable of shooting submoa groups within 350 yards i live in michigan so most of my shots are inside of a 100 yds but not unheard out 500 yds my price range is top about $950

FN has a very nice looking bolt action, the TSR i believe and it comes in a fluted 20 or 24 in bbl, has two studs( one for a sling and another throw a nice harris bipod on), adjustable trigger that can go from 3-5 lbs, and Hogue synthetic stock.

$950 will get a 308, or for about a $100 more you can it in 300 WSM.

If I had 950 for a budget, here is what I personally would do.divide 950/2= 475. Spend that much (or close to it) on a scope, then buy a rifle with the rest- probably a savage for a high value rifle in that price range. Most any popular caliber should work fine- I am a fan of the .243, no real logical explanation other than I have a beautiful relationship with a .243.

With that kind of cash take your time & get something you real like when it comes to the fit & finish. Narrow down 5 or so rifles you really like then do some research on them. 243,25-06, are good all around calibers from lil dogs to deer.
I like small accurate rifles for hunting yotes. As everyone around here knows I love the Remington MoHawk 600 series. Its right in your price rang

the 950 budget is with glass i already have a harris bipod , numerous sets of 30mm rings and bases for rem 700

I'd be looking at .25-06, .270, .280. They're flatter shooting cartridges than the '06 with lighter recoil, and a good bit more potent than the .243.

A new Remington and good glass for $950 is gonna be a tall order, esp with tax; Anything nicer than the ADL or SPS is north of $700 before tax/transfer & shipping, so you'll barely have $200 left for optics if you're lucky. But used it should be easy. I just paid $714 Shipped for a 95% 700 BDL C/D 8mm Mag with Redfield 2-7x. I see used 700's all the time for $500-ish

I would go with a TC Venture in 243 You can pick one up for around $425.00with a $50.00 rebate till the end of the year. I know two guys that have them and both shoot under .5 at 100 yrds. right out of the box.
