Eltejon? Have you spoken with a local gun shop yet? How much more are you going to need. I am surprised we do not have more participation here. Can some of you come up with a fiver or so, for a good cause? Figure out how much more we need and I will try to dig a little deeper. Or maybe instead of a used revolver we should lower our sights to a new keltec p11 nine millimeter? They can be had under 250$ some places.

El Tejon - I also received your letter acknowledging receipt of the money. Thanks again for taking care of this. I might have to change my opinion of lawyers, at least of the pro gun rights lawyers. :D

Nick1911, are you going to try to visit this guy and get a few pictures? Just wondering. I understand it might not work out, but if you can, it will be great to have a record of that.

Yes ElT - thank you very much for dealing with this (and for pumping up the final value the way you did).

$306?

Cool.

Should be able to find a nice J frame or something in that price range. Good deal.

El T - Got the letter with the copy of the check that you sent out.

Thanks for your involvement and for taking care of business.

wow in all the internet forums and people i have met you guys have to be the best around.i do not know alot of people that would fork over hard earned money for someone they dont know.you guys are real heros to that guy.very very cool.

There was a link on that blog to THR about what we did here for the gentleman.

I had sent an e mail to the prosecutor, very polite, but wondering if it had been a bank robbery, would they keep all the money. Never got a response.

They did not return his gun

I personally spoke with the guy a few weeks ago. His gun was NOT returned. I asked him if he had replaced the gun yet. He said that he did not because he did not have the money. I asked him if he would like our help picking out and paying for a new gun. He said "Yes, Yes, I will take any help you can give, I need protection." I had planned on going to a gun shop with him to help him out, but my wife stopped me. The women in the Blog link that said they returned his pistol to him was mistaken (or he lied to me or her). I don't think he would lie about this to get money from us because when I spoke to him, we were not talking about giving him the cash.

Maybe what he meant was that he got his gun back because we provided him with the funds to replace it. As far as his sister in the blog. Well, this is the internet, you know. Some MMM'er could have easily said that because that blog sight was ramping up to do what we did and didn't want him provided with a replacement. Just my .02 cents.

If it is his choice, he should be armed now. If we paid for something, that was not needed, I do not care,,,, I am sure that our response has been noted by the idiots that think all guns are bad......... TO all that helped,,,, we made a statement,,,,, I think they are listening,,,,, live long and prosper
