    Hello
Anyone know of any good Indoor or Outdoor shooting range a person can join?
I am looking for a yearly membership within a 30 mile radius of Richfield, Ohio. That is N.E.Ohio just south of Cleveland.
    Thanks

Stay away from Big Bore Specialties/Sherwin Shooting Sports in Willowick. It's an indoor range with draconian, rip-off rules and a rude staff.

A and A is a beautiful outdoor range about 40 minutes East of the city. It is off of route 422 heading East on "Fenstermaker" road. Supervision is limited but people are really good about behaving themselves. Please do the same.

We also shoot on private land (with permission) in Geauga county.

Does anyone know of public shooting land in NE Ohio?

There's Stonewalls Shooting Range just north of you in Brecksville at 110 Ken Mar Industrial Parkway, just off of I-77. Call 440-526-0001 for more information.

I stopped going to Stonewall...too many bullet holes in the partitions.

There is the Marksman in Norton, a few miles to the south of you. They have pin shoots on Friday nights.

I went to Stonewall a few times when I lived in Cleveland (2004-2005). As far as indoor ranges go, you could have done worse at the time.

The DNR range east of Cleveland and Mentor was a nice facility, with occasionally overbearing ROs. Honestly, though, I'd rather have them than not at some ranges.

Is "The Marksman" in Norton the shop that used to be "The Deer Hunter"?

IIRC, Nroton & maybe Barberton PD's used to shoot at Deer Hunter

The last time somebody pointed a gun at me was on their range. That was the last time I used their range.

I consider Stonewall dangerously unsupervised. That last time I was there, in addition to be swept by the guy in the stall next to me, several stalls to my left were three guys yelling at each other in Serbo-Croatian, wrestling over a loaded Remington 870. They have a tendency to spend more time running their mouths with their lay-about buddies than watching what's going on.

I belong to the North Olmsted Sportsman's Club. It's the best run club in NE Ohio. Safety is a TOP priority.

Indoor 50' pistol (including the Cuyahoga County Pistol League and IDPA) and trap (on alternate Sundays).

I normally hit the ODNR supervised Grand River public range off of Rt. 88 just East of West Farmington (I live in Parma Hts.). Outdoors, 100/50/25 yds, benches (half covered). $5 per visit or $24 per year, fees can be obtained anywhere hunting licenses are sold (they are not sold at the range).

There's also South Cuyahoga, but every time I try and go to attend one of their monthly meetins to join up, the place is always packed (difficult to find parking).

I am a member of West Branch Rifle and Pistol in Grafton, and am very happy there. Not sure if they are taking any new members there right now. It is about twenty minutes from my back door.
I would always rather shoot outdoors then at a private indoor range. Joining a club has other benefits. Our's has it's own FFL...free transfers. Qualifies you for CMP purchases.

A and A. Real nice people. They are not taking any new members right now but it is open to the public. Out pistol and rifle ranges, trap, 5 stand and skeet.

I have been to Sherwin and Stonewall many times. I used to like them both.

Sherwin I thought would be cheaper once I owned my own gun and stopped renting theirs, since the range fees were per day. Turns out I was wrong. We usually go as a group of three or four guys and split the bill, and it seems to be more expensive. They are adding on to the bill somewhere. I bought my first gun there and got a good deal, not going back.

Stonewall is a better shooting range, but I definently agree with the comments above. They do spend a lot of time talking about garbage. I am currently in the market for a sub compact 9mm for carry, and wanted to look at a couple, but they were too busy talking to help me. Their prices on guns are a bit high too.

I was at Fin Feather and Fur in Ashland recently, didn't know at the time they had a range. I did look at prices. There was a S&W M&P 9mm Sub Compact there about $50 less then anywhere else.

Next weekend I plan on checking out Atwell's in Painseville or A&A's outdoor range in Garrettville, weather permitting.

I've been looking for a club to join also. I've shot at the ODNR class C ranges but never the class A pistol. It's a nice amenity to have. I'm also gunna look at Ashland lake. I have a few buddies that are members and have nothing but good to say. Plus, If you're not a heavy shooter, fin feather fur is also in Ashland and has awesome prices/staff. They have a range in the basement. But I know that's a haul from the east side.

Stonewall can eat it as far as i'm concerned. I've been there twice. Both times to buy, and the guy's just not worth doing business with. Plus, terrible prices. I walked out empty handed both times.

I live in lakewood and just stumbled across a listing for N.Olmsted. Do you have any more info on the place? Cool people? Open all year? Expensive?
