The Maglula is the only one I ever used twice. Guys at matches borrow mine. I own them for every weapon I own that they make a comparable lula for.

Yeah, I think they are worth it.

Go to youtube and look at the other mag loader they have. It is even better and easier than that one which everyone seems to be pleased with. If you find the one that you slide the rounds in let me know I want one. Also if I remember right their web sight may have a video showing the details.

That would be the Striplula. It is nice but only works on 5.56 ammo that's loaded on clips first. The regular Maglula works with loose ammo.

My Striplula works fine with loose rounds. It will also work on polymer mags that won't hold the regular Lula device.

I have a couple and am well pleased. Actually, all MagLULA's stuff just seems to work-I also have their UpLULA and Baby UpLULA.
If memory serves, $38 sounds way too high-shop around or see what you local gun shop can get 'em for. I was pleasantly surprised at my local gun shop's price-'course, I had to provide all the info (Butler Creek part numbers, etc). The shop wasn't familiar with 'em, but does a lot of business with Butler Creek so getting 'em was no problem.
MagLULA home page.

Just checked my records (prices include taxes)
2008 I paid $23.47 at a local police supply house, which normally has high prices
2009 I paid $26.20 at local gun shop

I don't know what time and the dollar have done to prices, but they also should be available at more places than when I bought, so maybe competition has kept prices in check?

EDIT: Just checked MagLULA's site-MSRP for the loader you're looking at is $29.95, which means you should be able to find @ under MSRP. Link also has Butler Creek part numbers.
I'd be wary of buying stuff like this on Amazon-a lot of times I've seen gun related stuff overpriced, which looks to be the case in your link?

Sorry 'bout that-not the model you want for an AR.

Anywho-shop around and don't be in a hurry-they'll probably show up on eBay at a good price.

I like to use stripper clips to load mags. I usually just use the metal clip reloader; just clip it on and shove three stripper clips in.

But I recently got a couple of C-mags. They came with loaders that load five loose rounds at a time. They work on regular mags too. Then I came across a surplus one that is for the C-mags, used, for ten or twenty bucks, I can't recall. Anyway, it will load TEN loose rounds OR a stripper clip. The ram block that fits in it has magnets on both sides and can fit either way (good for in the dark I suppose). The magnets pull the spent clip out. Loads mags and C-mags very, very fast.

I highly recommend the C-mag loader for any AR magazines. You can probably find a surplus one used for cheap enough to get two. Get the ten round one though, it is much more useful than the five rounder.

Oh yeah, the manufacturer is the same manufacturer of the C-mag, Beta or whatever.

MagLula is worth every penny. I don't have one for my ARs yet, but have been using one with my AK mags for a while. Cussed myself for the false economy of waiting so long to get one. Saves my thumbs and takes half the time to load them up.

I haven't use the AR ones, but I use MagLULA for pistols and AK mags. It's definitely worth buying.
