Having introduced myself to semi-autos with a KAHR P9, I find myself liking them (S.A.'s) and want another.. with more punch. I'm looking at a SIG P220 .45 ACP. Would anyone care to offer up a critique on this choice?

Thanks!

sig 220

You will not regret buying a sig 220. one of the finest guns ever made.

Ditto what rey said. I have two of them, and both are very accurate and reliable. I also have a P245 and it too is a great .45. You really cant go wrong with anything SIG.

Thanks Rey And AK

A friend is selling one of his and is giving me first crack. He's had it 2 years and is asking $600. From what I gather, that's a decent price..he's treated it very well.

Thanks Again

If its in about new shape and has night sights, thats not to bad. Around here $600 would be a little high, but they are what they are where you are. :)

AK

He's obsessive about cleaning, etc. I know the gun..have put a few rounds through it.. and it looks new as well. Night sights are in prime shape.

Take Care

I bought my first West German SIG-Sauer .45 caliber P220A in
July of '88, and my second in March of '95. Both, served as my
duty weapon faithfully, NEVER having a malfunction of any kind.
The only reason I sold the first one was because one of our
trainee's was thinking of using a Ruger P-90 for LEO duty; and
after he shot my P220 he wanted it very badly. Enough so,
that I bought me another one, and still had a few dollars to
put in my pocket~!:uhoh: Now retired, I still have the 2nd
one and it remains as one of my favorite .45's; and it still
frequents the range~!:D

IMHO, make sure you like DA/SA guns before springing for SIG. The DA first shot of the SIG 220 is IMHO much inferior to the Kahr trigger which is consistant from shot to shot. The SA trigger on the SIG is better than the Kahr.

I've learned I don't like DA/SA guns and thus stopped buying them. But if the DA to SA transition doesn't bother you I agree SIGs are great.
