Is there any reason why the metal trigger group from an older 10/22 could not be installed into a new Takedown model?

I know Ruger sells the plastic trigger groups for installation into older guns, but can it work the other way...

If trigger groups are the same for a normal 10/22 it should. I actually have an old metal one sitting at home if u want it.

Have you considered the Ruger BX drop in trigger group for 10/22? Supposed to have 2.5-3.0 lb trigger with minimal overtravel and positive reset - http://www.guns.com/review/gear-review-ruger-bx-trigger-group/

Large thread review of BX trigger on Rimfirecentral - http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=603599

Bi-Mart in Oregon is selling them for $39 in this week's flyer - http://mydigitalpublication.com/publication/?i=372401&p=&pn=#

$60 online - https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/pro...-and-22-charger-trigger-90462-736676904624.do

I tested one in store and thinking about getting one for my 10/22 TakeDown.

Thanks!

I am not a fan of plastic replacing metal, no matter how supposedly "better" the new design is perceived to be.

I will probably buy a new 10/22 Takedown, swap the components with a "last production" 2006 metal parts gun, and sell the older gun.
