Anyone ever seen one of these? I never had in all my gun years and I though it was neat. Guy was buying a Marlin 60 and a JC Higgins 22 autoloader of some sort at local gun shoot, $60 each. It warmed my heart to see a father and son getting a couple of 22 rifles.

Anyways the Sears gun had a sling built in to the buttstock! It worked by being pulled out. must be somehow spring loaded or something on a roller in the stock. Attached to stud close to front of muzzle.

If not needed, sling rolled back in to stock and it fit flush in buttstock. only the sling attachment stuck out just enough to be able to pull it out.

Thought it was quite neat and rifle even had a scope and I'd like to have seen it first but I'm glad someone got it who would actually put it to more use than I.

Neat idea, but what happens when the spring in the stock breaks (as it inevitably will, someday)? Can it be readily fixed (i.e. is there easy access to it for repairs), or do you have to just leave it rolled up or extended, and stay with it that way?

There was a discussion of these guns some time back, either here or TFL. A friend of mine has one and had identified it as a High Standard IIRC(it's early and I'm still on my first cup of coffee.) Nifty red sling.

Numrich has parts and has answered questions about them on their board.
